1 श्री नारदमुनि ने कहा: जो व्यक्ति आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान का अनुशीलन कर सकने में सक्षम हो उसे सारे भौतिक सम्बन्धों का परित्याग कर देना चाहिए और शरीर को उस योग्य बनाये रखकर उसे प्रत्येक गाँव में केवल एक रात बिताते हुए इस स्थान से दूसरे स्थान की यात्रा करनी चाहिए। इस प्रकार संन्यासी को शरीर की आवश्यकताओं के लिए किसी पर निर्भर रहे बिना सारे संसार में विचरण करना चाहिए।
2 संन्यास धारण किये हुए व्यक्ति को अपना शरीर ढकने के लिए वस्त्र तक का भी उपयोग नहीं करना चाहिए।
