Tuesday afternoon is my time for an in-depth look at the Bhagavad-Gita and currently my two other callers from the Stratford/London, Ontario district are looking at chapter four.
Chapter four opens with the topic of parampara, which translates as a school of thought. Sometimes it is referred to as a chain of thoughtful teachers; a disciplic succession. अध्याय तेरह – सिद्ध पुरुष का आचरण (7.13)
1 श्री नारदमुनि ने कहा: जो व्यक्ति आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान का अनुशीलन कर सकने में सक्षम हो उसे सारे भौतिक सम्बन्धों का परित्याग कर देना चाहिए और शरीर को उस योग्य बनाये रखकर उसे प्रत्येक गाँव में केवल एक रात बिताते हुए इस स्थान से दूसरे स्थान की यात्रा करनी चाहिए। इस प्रकार संन्यासी को शरीर की आवश्यकताओं के लिए किसी पर निर्भर रहे बिना सारे संसार में विचरण करना चाहिए।
2 संन्यास धारण किये हुए व्यक्ति को अपना शरीर ढकने के लिए वस्त्र तक का भी उपयोग नहीं करना चाहिए।

अध्याय बारह पूर्ण समाज – चार आध्यात्मिक वर्ग (7.12)

In mid-March, the ISKCON Communications Journal (ICJ) is set to publish its first issue after a fifteen-year hiatus, under the guidance of Mahaprabhu Dasa, Director of ISKCON Communications Europe. The Journal is edited by Tattvavit Dasa and Rupa Sanatana Dasa.
