Nartak Gopal Devi Dasi: Krishna arranged for devotees to be there at the time of his death. This was December 8th 1980. The New York temple was on West 55th Street in Manhattan and two devotees lived at that temple. Bakula and Surottama, and they had their daughter Shringara born that morning. She was born in the temple so by the afternoon she had developed kind of a cough so they thought well we better take this baby to the hospital because you never know. So they asked another devotee Keshiha

In the late sixties Hare Krishna devotees from New York went to Philadelphia to open a temple. Many people were attracted by their kirtans and by the philosophy and lifestyle that they were teaching.
Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva and Lady Subhadra were installed in 1972 and taken out for the first Ratha-yatra festival on the East Coast of the USA. Srila Prabhupada visited the temple in 1975 and attended the Ratha-yatra that year.
The current temple in the beautiful suburb of Mt. Airy was acqui

Mayesvara Dasa: This clip shows the parikrama procession walking from the Ganges to Rudradwipa. What is worth pointing out here is that this is just ONE of the groups that go out each day. Because of the success of the BBT book distributors all over the world… the volume of pilgrims attending have become so high the parikrama groups have had to be divided into smaller groups. The logical way to do that is by language. So this video shows the international group… which includes devotees from R

Following is a recorded conversation between HG Yamuna Prana Das and HH RP Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaj. Maharaj during the ride to Airport on the last day of visit to Russia/Ukraine.
“We are discussing how here in Ukraine and also in Russia, wherever we have devotees who either have cows or have interest to care for cows or have interest to do some farming. Who want to be connected with land because so many instru

Asvatthama, son of the Brahmana guru, had murdered Draupadi’s sons in their sleep, after the war was over. Arjuna was going to execute him as he had promised his grieving wife. But now Draupadi pleaded for mercy. His brother, Bhima urged the death penalty, and the Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna said: A friend of a brahmana is not to be killed, but if he is an aggressor he must be killed. All these rulings are in the scriptures, and you should act accordingly. You have t

Glories of Amalaki Ekadasi
King Mandhata once said to Vasishtha Muni, “O great sage, kindly be merciful to me and tell me of a holy fast that will benefit me eternally.”
Vasishtha Muni replied. “O king, kindly listen as I describe the best of all fast days, Amalaki Ekadasi. He who faithfully observes a fast on this Ekadasi obtains enormous wealth, gets free of the effects of all kinds of sins, and attains liberation. Fasting on this Ekadasi is more purifying than donating one thousand cows i
An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Bhagavad-gita. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way that he could.
One day the grandson asked, “Grandpa! I try to read the Bhagavad-gita just like you but I don’t understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bhagavad-gita do?”

If a devotee were to ask, “Please bless me so that I’ll never take birth again in this horrible material world,” would this be asking for some kind of liberation? Hundreds of times, Srila Prabhupada encouraged us to “Go Back home, back to Godhead.” Would it be a form of boldness or naiveté to desire to come back to this world and serve by preaching?
That would depend on our level of perception and spiritual progress. There were times when some disciples indicated to Srila P

On Friday, January the 4th in 1891, Hindus who were bathing in the sacred river Yamuna witnessed an amazing scene. A ship with the name of an unknown language approached.

Death Wish Stopped
Once I was distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books in a small city in Belgium, and I met a woman who listened very emotionally as I showed her a book. She told me she didn’t need the book, because she had just bought some pills in the pharmacy (she showed them to me) and was on her way home to take them all at once and end her life.

Kali yuga is an ocean of faults but there is ONE good quality of this age which is the chanting of holy name and it is accompanied by the mercy of Lord Caitanya. The importance of holy name can never be overestimated. We may sometimes ask, “Which service is the best?” and there are different answers. All forms of pure devotional service are equally transcendental. But for

Yesterday was a historic day in Prasad Distribution, it was the first day cooking at “Krishna’s Castle”, the new Prasad Distribution kitchen/ Temple in the City of London. The City of London is a one mile area, established by the Romans in 45AD. Only 9,000 people live here but over 300,000 people come here to work everyday. In other words this is a seriously important place to spread the mission of Lord Caitanya.
And according to our Srila Prabhupada the best way to spread the
