Mayesvara Dasa: This clip shows the parikrama procession walking from the Ganges to Rudradwipa. What is worth pointing out here is that this is just ONE of the groups that go out each day. Because of the success of the BBT book distributors all over the world… the volume of pilgrims attending have become so high the parikrama groups have had to be divided into smaller groups. The logical way to do that is by language. So this video shows the international group… which includes devotees from Russia, Croatia, Uzbekistan, Kaskhstan etc. However there are so many people coming to Mayapura from China, they have their own walking group as well as a third group of people who speak Hindi and a fourth Bengali group which is more than twice the number of pilgrims you see here coming from all over Bengal. What is further impressive is that those responsible for coordinating the logistics of this operation arrange for ALL the pilgrims to get both breakfast and lunch served at the location sites where they arrive at! There is yet another group of very hearty individuals who camp and bath at the places of worship where huge tents are set up for them to sleep and they get an evening meal as well! This is all because of the extraordinary teaching of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. His gift is irresistible once the soul gets even a drop of the transcendental nectar that He so eloquently describes in the opening of the Shisastaka Prayers: “Glory to the sri-krsna-sankirtana, which cleanses the heart of all the dust accumulated for years and extinguishes the fire of conditional life, of repeated birth and death. This sankirtana movement is the prime benediction for humanity at large because it spreads the rays of the benediction moon. It is the life of all transcendental knowledge. It increases the ocean of transcendental bliss, and it enables us to fully taste the nectar for which we are always anxious.” – Shiksastaka 1.
