I met Mother Balai through my sister Padyavali, who lived in Kinross in the Eastern Transvaal. Whenever I visited Kinross I would do as much sankirtana as possible, and soon, through the effort of the devotees, a nama-hatta was established.
Padyavali regularly brought prasadam for Mother Balai and her family, and soon Balai; her good husband, Lenny; and her children, Shamenderan and Priyenderan, took up the process of Krishna consciousness.

Ireland’s main temple, on the Hare Krishna island of Inis Rath – also known as Govindadwipa and located on Lough Erne in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland – is set to undergo major renovations. These will include new deity worship facilities for the presiding deities of Sri Sri Radha-Govinda and new cottages for resident pujaris. 1 श्रील शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा: यह जानकर कि कृष्ण के माता-पिता उनके दिव्य ऐश्वर्य से अवगत हो चुके हैं, भगवान ने यह सोचा कि ऐसा नहीं होने दिया जाना चाहिए। अतः उन्होंने भक्तों को मोहने वाली अपनी योगमाया का विस्तार किया।

*अनावश्यक को आवश्यक के रूप में विवेचन करना मन का स्वभाव है। मन कृत्रिम आवश्यकताओं का निर्माण यह मानते हुए कर लेता है कि वह इनके बिना नहीं रह सकता। इस प्रकार आसक्तियों का एक विशाल बोझ हम जीवन पर्यंत ढोते हैं। आसक्ति अपने आप में हमारे मन के ऊपर एक विशाल बोझ है। जब तक हम इस बोझ से छुटकारा प्राप्त नहीं कर लेते, तब तक कदापि हम इसके प्रभाव की व्यापकता को नहीं समझ सकते। परंतु यदि हम आंतरिक आनंद प्राप्त कर लें, तब हम इन अंतहीन जटिलताओं से मुक्त एक सरल जीवन व्यापन कर सकते हैं *
