Preaching

By Krpakara dasa (ACBSP)

When is a person Krsna conscious enough to preach? Srila Prabhupada encouraged us to preach immediately, regardless of our degree of realization. By preaching we cement our understanding. Hearing is the first step in devotional service, and the second step is chanting. Either privately or Congregationally. Preaching really means teaching.

It is commonly accepted that by teaching others your own understanding becomes enhanced. They also say your retention levels increase

The Price of Causeless Mercy

By Srimati Devi Dasi

Mahaprabhu’s lips quivered in the ecstasy of jubilation as He sang the glories of the Holy Name. His effulgent body, stoked and fueled by prema, illumined the small dark room to reveal His two constant night companions. In great ecstasy He said to Srila Svarupa Damodara in a faltering voice, “My ears are dying of thirst. Sing! Sing, My dear friend! Sing the glories of the all-merciful Holy Name.”

By Partha Das and Uttama Devi Dasi

A culture of appreciation can help us stay high forever, what to speak of improve our marriage.

As we devotees would say in the early days of ISKCON, “Chant Hare Krsna and stay high forever!”

Krsna is known as Stavyapriya, one who likes being praised, so it is natural that we also find it uplifting.   Srila Prabhupada often replied in letters, “I am very much happy to hear your kind appreciation, and it is very much encouraging to me.”

By hearing appreciation

A few months back I had the good fortune to get association of a senior Vaishanava. During the lecture one line that really touched my heart was the advice that we should daily pray to Prabhupada to ‘make me an instrument of your compassion in this very life time’. It was seemingly a simple statement but it touched my heart and I started following it since then. Just by praying like this daily to Srila Prabhupada had some effect on my dull consciousness, inspired me to some act and brought new

Bhagavad Gita – The Stress Reliever Guide

In today’s competitive world when people are running after fame and money, stress and anxiety are common. Many people reach a breaking point and sink into depression. It is really painful to lose things that we value. Attachment often leads to disappointment. Either the object of our attachment does not continue to satisfy us or it does not last forever. Our loved ones may

Krishna or Vishnu?

Click to know more -    WHAT DO SCRIPTURES SAY ABOUT KRISHNA

Click to know more - KRISHNA OR VISHNU OR SHIVA OR BHAHMA - DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM

Through history we come to know that Vishnu is prior to Krishna; after all the scriptures inform us that He is the source of all creations, while Krishna descends to earth some 5000 years ago. In addition to these, Vishnu lives in regal opulence in Vaikuntha, evoking awe and reverence – as one would expect god- whereas Krishna appears as a cowherd boy

By Sri Nandanandana dasa (Stephen Knapp)

There have been some people who have declared that the worship of Deities or images or the murti in the temples is but a recent invention of Vedic culture. However, that is not an accurate point. It is true that according to the different yugas or ages (such as Satya-yuga, Treta-yuga, Dvapara-yuga, and Kali-yuga) there are different processes for spiritual development that have been more recommended than others. For example, meditation was the recommende

Surrender By Kavicandra Swami

2515183425?profile=original

We often get questions about surrender, like “how can we surrender”. Recently I was reading one old BTG, 2001, and found a nice practical statement from Srila Prabhupada. If we search “surrender” on the vedabase we find 7445 hits, so we know it is an important topic. And we all know the conclusion of the Bhagavad Gita:

sarva-dharman parityajya
mam ekam saranam vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo
moksayisyami mä suca

TRANSLATION

Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall d
