It is a day for good-byes which runs about the same for me in Mauritius every year. The flight back home to Canada is in the evening. The airport is in the south and is quite a distance, yet that doesn’t deter a group of devotees from gathering there to see me off. Though this day is marked on the calendar as an Ekadasi day (fasting from grains), the chefs or cooks from the households bring plenty of preps, to see I get looked after in the eating department.
