As one of the oldest languages and sometimes known as the 'mother of all languages', Sanskrit has enthralled the world for ages. An understanding of Sanskrit presents a window into India's vast heritage and culture.

The mission of the Bhaktivedanta Research Center (BRC) is to preserve, research and disseminate India’s rich history, religion and culture. In its academic endeavour, to make Sanskrit accessible to wider audiences, BRC along with its facilitation partner - The Dhī Pr

OUR LORD SRI KRISHNA VS THEY THE MORTALS

7584362085?profile=RESIZE_710x

They call me mad and  a psychopath,

To be thrown in the mental asylum

For showing them light and truth

For guiding them, towards the divine most lotus feet .

They loot me of every penny

Make me toil like there is no tomorrow

Yet they do not leave me. Why?

They will not, till they fully drain me, of all my resources

Yet, ingratitude is all what I will get

They, the tyrant meant to destroy.

Our Lord Sri Krishna smiles at me

Gently praises, "You possess such a wonderou

ISKCON talks about Sri Krishna in the form of monotheistic deity, which is supreme. The theology has been developed for drawing parallels with our Christ. Prabhupad had established the organization. ISKCON had turned out to be the public voice in Hinduism along with the leader in countercultural movements around late 1960s.

I am the richest person in this whole universe,

How? Have I worked relentlessly towards it?

Have I qualified myself in superlative?

Do I possess the most swanky cars and  the worldly riches?

Is my bank account an indicator of my claims?

NO ! NO ! NO ! I have none of these. ZERO! ZERO

Don't I get frightened to confess my riches?

I am sure to be robbed  and looted now?

I fear not , I care not, I know for sure.

None in all the globes can dare harm me

I need no Z+++

ISKCON RATHA YATRA IN KOLKATA

I appreciate the Vaishnav community. I have visited Mayapur in West Bengal. I went to the morning religious meeting at Tala Park of Tala Park Hari Sabha where Vaishnava sing and chant Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is my favorite good. It gives me a lot of happiness to write and sing on Lord Krishna. I love reading the Bhagwad Gita. I appreciate Sril Prabhupad of ISKCON. I really like the prasadam of Mayapur ISKCON. They are maintaining a temple of Lord Krishna with devotion for many years. They are

Twenty years ago, I lived in a small and simple ashram with fellow bhakti-yoga practitioners. I used to talk for hours with a friend, a deep and soft person, about philosophy, life, spiritual practice, and the fine tuning of our thoughts, words, and actions. I recall a discussion about the difference between being right and being true. To be right is like ringing the victory bell while being true is a call to the higher self, a calling to the Divine. Krishna explains that we lose when we act on

Masked people hide fear after fear
Traffic lights still blink red and green
Life goes on in a hazy dream

The dead lay to rest without a farewell
Who’s to join them is hard to tell
Some don’t care for they are deaf to reason
Their reckless behaviour is said to be treason

The thoughtless or the cautious are in the same boat
If the boat goes down, nobody will float
But even if we can’t control the wind or the tide
We can make a difference by looking inside

Inside our hea

As a medical doctor and a practicing devotee, I sometimes happen to help devotees with their medical illnesses in my community. And it is saddening to see how devotees neglect their health and pay a much higher price later.

There are many reasons why devotees suffer from health problems. Some of these reasons are unavoidable – like old age, genetic causes (diseases running in families), unexpected incidents like injuries, accidents etc.

But many times, devotees get diseases which can be totally

From Back to Godhead

The surprising events surrounding the initial publication of Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is.

The Bhagavad-gita was important to Srila Prabhupada. He saw it as the perfect book to convey Krishna consciousness, as it consists of the Lord’s own words and His interactions with His loving devotee. In 1939, just seven years after Prabhupada was initiated by his spiritual master, he wrote a lengthy introduction to the book in English, presaging his full translation and

For those of us who have traveled the length and breadth of India, there are many temples that have allowed us in and left indelible and inspiring memories for our spiritual progress. There have also been some temples who have kept us, as Westerners, out, or even kicked us out after we have already entered, as if they do not want to share their culture with us, or anyone they feel does not meet their requirements. I can understand that to a degree, and those who are merely tourists or who have

Sudama Story as a poem by Kalakantha Das

mIQ3yfI.jpeg?profile=RESIZE_584x He also understood Sudama hid within his clothes a bundle with some rice that he was too ashamed to show. The Lord inquired, “Have you brought a gift from home for Me? I greatly value any gift from saintly devotees. A cup of water makes Me smile, though I could drink an ocean. A fruit or flower pleases Me, when offered in devotion.” Despite this clear encouragement, Sudama was ashamed to give his gift to Krishna in this opulent domain. Lord Krishna knew Suddma’s pure affection had no price, so
