THE BIRDS

O mother Yashoda, we have seen
Those birds of the Vrindavan forest.
We know they are enlightened sages.
They have seen Him, Shri Krishna
And now they closed their eyes in deep meditation.

They are resting in the arm-like branches of the Vrindavan trees that are rich in foliage.

We witness their silence.
They are totally engaged in listening
To Hari’s delightful song. (Bhagavat 10/18/14)

The Svaminis here are speaking to Krishna’s mother, Yashoda. They are all "nirguna", that is, they are al

LOTUS FEET

O friends, Vrindavan increases
The fame of the world.
It has been blessed with the touch of
Krishna’s lotus feet, attained by Laxshmi,
That supreme goddess of splendor.

When Govinda plays His flute
The intoxicated peacocks dance.
Seeing them, the other inhabitants
Of the Govardhana Hill
Stand perfectly still, spellbound. (Bhagavat 10/18/10)

"It appears odd to us that the gods and other higher divinities will not set foot here, yet Shri Krishna, the God of gods, walks here all the time. We

Venu Gita Part 3

6THE SECOND CALLO king, the bhaktas of BrajaHeard the sound of the flute. It mesmerized all sentient beingsAnd transported the Svaminis of BrajaInto a mood of dalliance. (Bhagavat 10/18/6)The sound of Krishna’s flute was the reason for the Gopis’ blissful song. Hearing its elixir as a tone, they spontaneously began to praise their beloved Hari. They forgot everything and actually began to participate in the lila from the privacy of their homes. They became witnesses to Hari’s play. The first call

4BEWILDEREDO king, the Gopis then began to praise Shri Krishna,But when they remembered His activities,The swell of love bewildered their mindsTo such an extent that they wereUnable to continue their song. (Bhagavat 10/18/4)/Each expression of the Svaminis is part of a lila progression that culminates in their being able to freely praise Krishna and enter into His lila. Now they are unable to praise their experience of Shri Krishna’s form and His flute playing. They can no longer sing of the divi

Venu Gita Part 1

Chapter 1

KRISHNA ARRIVES

It is autumn in Vrindavan.
The waters are pure and abundant from the recent rains.
The fragrance of the lotus flowers mingles with the wind.
Shri Krishna, the immortal One
Enters the forest havens with
His cows and cowlads. (Bhagavat 10/18/1)

Here in the eighteenth chapter of the Bhagavata we find an eloquent description of the Svaminis’, the blessed dairy maids of Vrindavan. Their affinity for and attraction to Krishna is revealed by the way they describe Vrindavan as we

Truthfulness is an austerity for the tongue. The beginning of truthfulness is being truthful to Krishna’s instructions. The extension of truthfulness is that we practice truthfulness in following the vows to the spiritual master and Krishna. The further extension of truthfulness is to be truthful in our dealing with each other, at least in dealing with the Vaisnavas.

The Panihati Chida Dahi festival is explained in detail in Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita (Antya-lila, Chapter 6). Srila Raghunatha dasa Gosvami was previously a householder and wanted to join the personal association and service of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu at Jagannatha Puri. Rämeçvara: On the calendar it says it is Bhéma-ekädaçé.

Prabhupäda: Bhéma-ekädaçé, yes.

Rämeçvara: So I’ve been told that if one fasts on Bhéma-ekädaçé, that it is like fasting on all the ekädaçés. Is that true?

Prabhupäda: Yes. Ekädaçé is meant for fasting, either Bhéma or Arjuna. But we cannot fast, therefore we have to take little fruits and.... Otherwise, ekädaçé means fasting.

Habits

If you don’t cultivate positive habits, if you don’t cultivate positive philosophy then you will be forced to cultivate negative thoughts. If you don’t have good habits you are going to have bad habits. You have a choice, either you cultivate good habits or you cultivate bad habits.

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country. When he came back to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful, because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road that he went through was very rough and stony. He then ordered his people to cover every road of the entire country with leather carpet.
Definitely, this would need thousands of cows’ skin, and would cost a hug

HH KKS: We do need social interaction with devotees, that can satisfy. If we are associating with devotees that is inspiring. It is said that devotees are true friends, one of the twenty-six qualities of the devotee is..(sanskrit).. which means friendship. A devotee is a friend, a true friend.
It says that a friendship of a devotee is different than the friendship of a mundane

The people we remember to thank, in person, with a thoughtful note or gesture, or a phone call, are infinitely more likely to help us again than those we take for granted or neglect to thank. It’s so obvious, yet so few people really understand how this works.
People love to be acknowledged, admired, and thanked. People love to be thanked, not out of any selfish need but simply because it feels good to be acknowledged. And when we are sincerely acknowledged, the acknowledgment acts as reinforceme

Suffering is the Pastime of Fools

Why suffer when you can taste unlimited bliss at every minute by reconnecting yourself with the source of your existence? Just as an electrical appliance is useless when it is not connected with electricity, our lives are also useless when we are not connected with our source.

Krishna consciousness is the process of reconnecting yourself with your source. Try it today by chanting Hare Krishna with love. You'll feel the difference in your consciousness.
