Poem: Care by Bhaktimarga Swami

12358218683?profile=RESIZE_400x

When we actually care
We are prone to share
With those in times of need
In any physical/emotional bleed
With a gentle pinch of courage
Caring becomes a universal language
Understood by plants, vegetables
Bugs, birds, and all animals
True humans are quite aware
Of the sensitivity called care
By way of touch, a smile
Kind words, listening – all worth while
But we cannot monopolize
Rather own up and apologize
For past abuses done
With a violent cleaver or gun
To compensate, begin this day
With so

Poem for Kadambha Kanana Swami

OUR KK SWAMI (Dedicated to Kadambha Kanana Swami)

Life was good when he was young
He then got wed, then became a monk
A man of the Dutch touch genre
In venturesome pursuit he found Chaitanya
Intelligent, musical, with so much talent
He also displayed a warrior's trait so valiant
Like most of us in the early days of the mission
Active responsibility was the only true vision
He became an admin at the Vrindavan temple
For cleaning up a ring of sin – nothing simple
He received a vengeful bullet i

MY FIRST VISIT TO ISKCON

Entered in the mood of INQUISITIVENESS
Accumulated thoughts to get ADDRESS
Darshan was CLOSE
To wait, I CHOSE

In the temple hall, I was ALONE
Saw shining statue on THRONE
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada- name was written BELOW
Who is he? How to KNOW?

Bhagavad-Gita As It Is was kept NEARBY
The same name written below- don’t know WHY?
He is an author, I GUESS
Opened it with EAGERNESS

Brief Introduction of Author in BOOK
Oh! Great! Let me LOOK

It is our time to leave
It is real but hard to believe.
It is my anxiety
What will happen to our society?

A society which Prabhupada built, with hard efforts and pain
Different color bodies sitting here today, that is the ultimate gain.

We were young when we joined the movement
Vigour and energy were there to supplement.
Thinking, we must do whatever we can
In this allotted life span.

When Prabhupada left,
with a broken heart we moved further.
His lesson which I always remember
To  cooperate wit

POEM - BEST AVATAR - By Bhaktimarga Swami

BEST AVATAR

He is indeed by far
The mercy avatar
For he bore the blood
During the love flood

As companion to Gaur
Life was less is more
Distributing a wealth
For everyone's health

Committed to the name
And establishing its fame
He went door to door
In the effort to explore

He went with Haridas
Many gains, no loss
With interesting reception
Prepared for any rejection

Jagai/Madai, there in queue
The loud obnoxious two
Met more than their match
When Nitai did dispatch

Totally drunk as hell
They swayed, they fell

Jim Poem by Bhaktimarga Swami

I have been in touch with my sister, Rose Ann, who just lost her husband who was struggling with cancer. Jim Burgess was an amiable person. I don’t know where he stood on spirituality but he did live on a plant-based diet. Below is my poem about Jim:

Jim

Came a man who hailed from Erieau

Just across the lake from state Ohio

He was just a really nice guy

Not a bone in his body you’d call shy

He had this positive gift of gab

With a personality oh so fab

He was generous and into charity

That could

Sudama Story as a poem by Kalakantha Das

mIQ3yfI.jpeg?profile=RESIZE_584x He also understood Sudama hid within his clothes a bundle with some rice that he was too ashamed to show. The Lord inquired, “Have you brought a gift from home for Me? I greatly value any gift from saintly devotees. A cup of water makes Me smile, though I could drink an ocean. A fruit or flower pleases Me, when offered in devotion.” Despite this clear encouragement, Sudama was ashamed to give his gift to Krishna in this opulent domain. Lord Krishna knew Suddma’s pure affection had no price, so

Brother of Gentle Demeanor
By Bhaktimarga Swami

Oh Brother of gentle demeanor,
I am your irrefutable junior.
When I look at all you’ve done,
Nothing short of making that homerun,
I am humbled by your limitless energy.
And now you leave us that memory,
Of absolute conviction to go,
Where a target receives a clean throw.
You aim your desires so right,
And anchor turbulence at a fight.
You offer a calm where there isn’t,
And subdue a storm you see as incumbent.
You go out of your way to cook for u

Our Life, in Time....a poem by Diogo

Hare Krishna Vaisnavas!

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I write poems and monthly put them in a chapbook for the pleasure of Guru and Gouranga,
the devotees, and anyone who doesn't know about Krishna, but likes poetry.

A devotee suggested I share with you, and so, for your consideration, here it is =)

our life, in time

later, a stranger
will wear your shirt,
buttoned all the way,

while another leafs
through your favorite book
without liking it.

finally, some
