Faith in God

  • Faith in God should be very immense, unflinching, just like a baby monkey holds its mother very tightly and even though mother monkey jumps from branches to branches of a tree, it will ensure that its baby will not fall.  Alike, if one has faith in God like a baby monkey, God will always take care of its baby, that it will never fall. And the Love of God for his devotees is like that of a Cat.  As a cat very safely catches its kitten but with the same teeth, kills the rats (demonic people).

  • Maataji has very nicely explained the difference between a Gyani “Intellect” and a Bhakta “Devotee”.  If anything goes wrong, unfavorable to our expectations, a Gyani “Intellect” thinks that it is his fate, time is bad, he has done something bad either in this birth or in previous birth, therefore, he is suffering / passing through bad phase.  But a real Bhakta, a true Devotee enjoys even the pain, suffering and bad times and things, thinking that it is the mercy of Krishna that whatever bad he

  • A customer goes to a shopkeeper and asks what is the price of this washing machine.  The shopkeeper replies that he doesn’t want to sell his product to this customer. The customer repeats, requests, begs, comes in different forms like in a traditional muslim lady in gurka, but all the time the shopkeeper replies that he doesn’t want to sell his product to this customer.  Frustrated with the shopkeeper, the customer finally asks, okay, you need not sell this washing machine to me but kindly tell

God - A Thread

  • Devotee was compared to a Flower and Devotees association was compared to a Garland and Thread was Compared to God.  A flower as an individual has some value and the flowers when made as a garland, has more value.  Therefore, being in the association of devotees (Garland), a flower(a devotee) gets more value.  But for a flower to get the position of Garland, Thread is required because without thread, garland cannot be made, which means, without the mercy of the Lord, one cannot get Devotees’ Ass

• Maataji has given a very beautiful simile referring to the need of the hour / emergency. When a snake comes, everyone runs here and there immediately, but no one will say, let this Bhagavad Gita class gets completed, then we will think about the snake. But when coming to Devotion, we will not give such (snake) importance to our life / devotional life. We give less importance or ignore that We have to practice 16 rounds of chanting, we have to do Ekadasi fasting, we have to attend Aaratis, we h

The vendor says one rupee.  The passenger asks whether will you give it for fifty paise….the vendor walks away without replying to the passenger.  The passenger approaches to the vendor and asks why you have walked away without replying to me.  The vendor says that you are not a potential customer and you are not thirsty.  The passenger asks how you know that you are not thirsty?  The vendor says if you are really thi

Devotee & Drunkard

  • Maatajai has given a beautiful comparison of a Drunkard & Devotion.  Some drunkards listen when we say them drinking is bad and they will stop.  Some drunkards observe other drunkards drinking and met with accidents, spoiling their health and observing them, they stop drinking.  Some drunkards keep on drinking, meet accidents, spoils their health and still continue drinking. They ignore.  Similarly DEVOTION, some (Siddhas) assimilates the devotional knowledge by listening, some by observing, som

KRISHNA - The Fisherman

  • A fisherman when he want to catch the fish for himself, he will fish the fish of his choice and throws the unwanted fish caught in his net back into the sea.  Similarly, when GOD wants some fish (Devotees) for His Pleasure / Service, He will select only the most qualified fish of His choice and throws back the unqualified fish/people back into the water.  Therefore, we should prepare ourselves as a qualified fish, suitable and acceptable as per the choice of God.  We do not know again when God w

Raghunath Das Goswami is the ICKON of the word “SURRENDER”

Raghunath Das Goswami was the first amongst the six Goswamis to have darshan of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Raghunath Das Goswami is from a very, very rich family that we cannot imagine that every year, his father used to pay 12 lac Gold Coins as Tax to the Govt.

From very young age, Raghunath Das Goswami was listening about Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and when Raghunath Das Goswami was 14 years, developed keen love and thirst for Chaitanya Mahap

  • At the end of the class, one devotee asked as which is more important than other i.e., Saadhna (Efforts / Practice) or Krupa (Mercy).  Maataji has very beautifully explained that both Saadhana & Krupa are required for progress in one’s devotional life.  Without Saadhana, one cannot get Mercy.  A beautiful example was given that many people say that we don’t have mercy of the Lord, that’s why we could not go to the temple.  That’s wrong.  First we should put our saadhana / efforts to go to temple

Maataji narrated that many devotees asked Maataj as why so many devotees lost their lives, many got separated, many suffered with wounds, many left untraced in the recent natural calamities, who have gone for Chaar Dhaam Yaatra….. why they were punished? Why they were cursed? Is it the wrong / sin did the people done going for pilgrimage and is it the result that God gives? And so on and so on……….

And Maataji replied as under:-

First of all, we should understand and know the purpose of the pilgr

S U R R E N D E R

  • In the 7th Chapter, Text 12 of Bhagavad Gita, Lord says “Know that all states of being – be they of goodness, passion or ignorance – are manifested by My energy.  I am, in one sense, everything, but I am independent.  I am not under the modes of material nature, for they, on the contrary, are within Me.

Here, Maataj has clearly explained that though the three modes of nature viz., Satva (Goodness), Rajo (Passion) and Tamo (Ignorance) have manifested from God, but still how HE is not influenced b

Parable of a Dead Donkey

  • Parable of a Dead Donkey:-

Maataji has very beautifully narrated a parable of a dead donkey just to explain as how a devotee can use the situation of his crisis period / bad days / weak position and divert himself towards God and gain multiple times like a character in a parable of a Dead Donkey…..and the parable starts like this…..

Once upon a time, in USA, there was one person, who was in deep financial crisis.  He has brought one roaming Donkey to his house.  His wife asked as what he will do

  • To see Krishna in everyone, in everything, at everyplace and in every incident, we should have and develop Bhaav / Feeling for him.  Here, Maataji gives a beautiful example that Jayadeva Goswami whenever goes to bath, he spends hours together.

Reason was that whenever he sees the water, he recollects the holy river Yamuna and whenever he recollects Yamuna, he recollects Krishna & Radharani and whenever he recollects Krishna & Radharani, he starts crying, he goes into trans, recollecting & relis

Thought Of The Day

So anyway, one who takes shelter of Krsna, he'll not be put into danger. Rest assured. So 'krsna'-sambandha, 'bhakti'-praptyera sadhana. So I have to revive my relationship. Relationship is there; simply I have forgotten. So I have to revive it, or remember it, that "Oh, I am such and such." Vasudevah sarvam iti sa mahatma su-durlabhah [Bg. 7.19]. I have to become a great soul by surrendering unto God. So that surrendering process is bhakti, or devotional service. My relationship is eternal with

ramanuja's-hand-writing.jpg

Taken from 'The Life of Ramanujacharya'

At that time a very learned scholar was living at Kahci. His name was Yadavaprakasa, and the fame of scholarship had attracted a large group of disciples to him. Being desirous of understanding the Vedic literatures, Ramanuja  also became his student, and his pleasant nature and quick intelligence soon endeared him to the great pandita. However, this relationship did not last for very long, for despite his learning and knowledge of the scriptures,  Yadavapr
