  • A vendor was selling water packets in the train and a passenger asks how much. The vendor says one rupee.  The passenger asks whether will you give it for fifty paise….the vendor walks away without replying to the passenger.  The passenger approaches to the vendor and asks why you have walked away without replying to me.  The vendor says that you are not a potential customer and you are not thirsty.  The passenger asks how you know that you are not thirsty?  The vendor says if you are really thirsty, you will not ask the price of water.  First you will drink the water and then you will ask the price.  Similarly, in devotion, if people are really thirst, they don’t bother for the hardships they are going to face by observing the austerities, following rules and regulations and the like.  Alike the passenger asked the price of the water packet, people simply visit temples or holy places just like a time pass, but not with thirst.  And if one is really thirst of God & Devotion, they would be ready to pay any price for that.
