The Indian sari, or saree, is as ancient and wondrous as the Indus Valley Civilization from which it originated. Sari is derived from the Sanskrit word, sati, meaning cloth. This strip of unstitched cloth is the longest standing fashion statement in history, worn by Indian women since at least 2800 BCE. The sari is unparalleled in its originality and timelessness, making it a true archaeological garment. It is uniquely feminine and graceful, and holds the bountiful secrets and mysteries of Anci
The Indian Saree (a.k.a. Sari, Seere, Sadi) boasts of oldest existence in the sartorial world. It is more than 5000 years old! It is mentioned in Vedas, the oldest existing (surviving) literature (3000 B.C.) Patterns of dress change throughout the world now and then but, the Sari has survived because it is the main wear of rural India. 75% of the population (now a billion as per official estimate) wear versatile sari. The quintessential eastern fashion statement, the sari seems to be the most misunderstood garment, in the history of apparels. Though a number of European designers are increasingly vouching for its comfort and beauty, it is still an enigma for western cultures, mysteriously draped and staying in place without any help from pins or buttons!!!!!
A charming folktale goes "The Sari, it is said, was born on the loom of a fanciful weaver. He dreamed about a woman. The shimmer of her tears. The dra

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada instructed his followers and disciples to use our intelligence to reach out to people from different aspects of life and create ways for them to become involved with devotional service. Our society has evolved over the years, in that we have become less of a temple based society and more of a congregation based society. The majority of persons who take part in Krishna consciousness are more or less grihasthas.

I know that a Teacher is different from a Guru, but never knew that they are different in so many ways.
I know "All Gurus are Teachers; but all teachers are not Gurus".
If you get not only a Guru but also a "Satguru", you are the most blessed one.

The laws of nature are such that whatever activities you are engaged in during your life, that is what you think about at the moment of death. If you have lived a life thinking of Krsna, serving Krsna, then there is a good chance that you would think of Krsna at the moment of death. If on the other hand, you are engaged in opposite activities then it will be impossible to remember the Lord at the moment of death. Theref

In this way the living entity is passing through different dresses. And the best dress is this human form because in this dress you can understand what is God, what you are, what is your relation with God, and then you can act and go back to home, back to Godhead. Therefore if this dress, in this dress... I am living being; you are living being. So we are in this human form of dress. We have got developed consciousness. If we miss the opportunity to understand God, then again we are put into the

Food is nourishment for this physical body. Emotionally, for people to be strong, they need to feel appreciated and encouraged. Spiritually, we also have to be strong. The food that give us strength spiritually to maintain that sincere and devoted disposition while we are trying to do the needful in this world is our sadhana (daily spiritual practice). Dear Devotees,
Since publishing the commemorative magazine "Bhaktivedanta Manor: 40 Years of Devotion" it has been brought to our attention that some readers felt our portrayal of the Manor’s history was lacking in sufficient details. Some names of important devotees were not mentioned and some historical episodes not included.
Unfortunately, things like this do sometimes happen when you’re trying to tell a story that spans four decades – but you only have 20 pages to do it. Something – or some

If you understand Krsna, then you become more than a brahmana. Try to understand Krsna, and then your life is successful. And Krsna is being distributed by Lord Krsna.
