Thought Of The Day

Krsna is called Yogesvara. He's also the master of all yogic mystic power. Therefore a bhakta, a true devotee of Krsna, he does not endeavor personally to achieve all these yogic mystic power. He depends on Krsna, and if there is necessity of exhibiting some yogic power, Krsna will show. Krsna will exhibit. Yatra yogesvarah harih. So although Arjuna did not manifest any yogic power, but, by Krsna's grace everything was so wonderfully performed in the Battle of Kuruksetra. Otherwise Arjuna was a,

Since last one week or so I was trying to read NOI as I realised that even after reading it in the past I don't know much about it, beyond the surface level reading. I downloaded various lectures by senior devotees and downloaded few notes posted on iskcondesiretree and was unsuccessfully trying to learn the `deeper' meaning of each verse.

Today morning as I sat again to learn the first and second verse I opened pocketveda on my ipad and as I started reading the verse first and then instead of go

Sri Mukunda Das, Madhava Das and Sri Narahari Sorkar Thakur were three brothers who lived in the village of Sri Khanda. Raghunandan was the son of Sri Mukunda Das. [C. C. Mad 15]

In the house of Sri Mukunda Das, who lives at Sri Khanda, Lord Sri Gopinath is served with great devotion. One day Mukunda was called out to do some work, and then he instructed his son Raghunandan to worship the deity a

Some of the Characteristic Of Vaisnavas

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Visnur aradhana means one must become a Vaisnava, and Vaisnava means regulated life, not destroyed everything, finished, to become hogs. That is not Vaisnava. Vaisnava means regulated, end—to, how to satisfy Visnu. (BG lecture 1.43, London, July 30, 1973)

Sarve sukhino bhavantu. Vaisnava desire is not exploitation. Vaisnava desire is that "How others will be happy, how they will understand Krsna, how they will get happin

Gaurakisora dasa Babaji Maharaja used to sit on the side of a latrine to chant Hare Krishna. Many materialistic persons used to come and bother him and disturb his daily routine of chanting, so to avoid their company he used to sit by the side of a latrine, where materialistic persons would not go because of the filth and the obnoxious smell. In this age, no one is expected to be highly

First birth is from your parents, but real birth, real life, begins when one accepts a bona fide spiritual master and renders service unto him. Then the path is open for going back home, back to Godhead, to live eternally in full knowledge and full bliss and in association with the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself, Lord Krishna. Letter to Narayani, June 11, 1972.

The reactions of our sinful activities we are suffering. As soon as we get a material body -- it doesn't matter whether a rich man's body or a poor man's, poor man's body -- the material body is itself subjected to threefold miseries of this material condition. Therefore Arjuna was advised by Krsna: agama apayino anityah tams titiksasva bharata. You cannot avoid the miserable condition of this body. That is not possible. So we have to tolerate. There is no other excuse. But do not create another

Preacher's mood of compassion

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

One who identifies himself as a follower of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu should feel like Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who said, iha-sabara kon mate ha-ibe nistara: "How will all these yavanas be delivered?" Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was always anxious to deliver the fallen souls because their fallen condition gave Him great unhappiness. That is the platform on which one can propagate the mission of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

There was a family with one kid. One day the mother was out and dad was in charge of the kid who just turned three.

Someone had given the kid a little 'tea set' as a birthday gift and it was one of his favorite toys. Dad was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when kid brought dad a little cup of 'tea', which was just water.

After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea from father, kid's mo

The Champion's Edge

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

The champion’s edge is not in a gifted birth; a high Intelligent Quotient (IQ) or in talent. The champion’s edge is all in the ATTITUDE (how you do what you do); not aptitude.

How you do what you do determines the quality of the results you get in your life.

It is what you do after you’ve done what you are expected to do, that will make you a CHAMPION.

It is what you learn after you’ve learnt what you are expected to learn

A man asked his father-in-law, "Many people praised you for a successful marriage. Could you please share with me your secret?"

The father-in-law answered with a smile, "Never criticize your wife for her shortcomings.”

Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband than you."

We all look forward to being loved and respected.

Generally, when a person makes a mistake,

False ego

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

False prestige or ahankaar is one of the stumbling blocks in the path of
self realization. Due to false ego we don’t accept good advice; due to
false ego we don’t accept the instructions of the spiritual master and the
scriptures.

HARE KRISHNA

Sometimes people hide their godlessness by saying that God cannot be described. Scriptures refute it and also Acharyas because Glories of Supreme Lord are unlimited. We can understand only very few glories of Supreme Lord.

I was talking with a close devotee friend, Sumeet Gupta Prabhuji, yesterday evening. While talking to him I realised how so many senior devotees have left their mark on me. I am sharing some of them to show my deep appreciation for them. And there are hundreds of others senior devotees in ISKCON from whom we get inspiration every day.

The first one to leave his imprint, continues to do it, HG Rukmini Krishna Das Prabhuji, he is the temple president of Sri Sri Radha Radhika Raman and Krishna Balr
