The first time I prayed with all my heart was when HG Sarvabhauma Prabhuji came to Punjabi Bagh temple and gave a lecture on atonement almost two years back. I used to feel a lot of guilt over my past karma and did not know how to get rid of them or ask forgiveness from all the people whom I hurt. All the past incidents would come into my thoughts as I would chant, it was getting difficult to chant. In the lecture Prabhuji mentioned that apart from our own lack of courage to face pe

Thought Of The Day

The impersonalists take it, this chanting, as means to attain liberation. They do not know that the chanting is the, real chanting begins after liberation. Not that by chanting one reaches liberation. No. That's not a fact. Satatam kirtayanto mam yatantas ca drdha-vratah [Bg. 9.14]. Satatam. Satatam means after liberation also. This chanting will continue after liberation also. Not that after liberation chanting will finish. In the Bhagavad-gita it is said, satatam. Satatam means after liberatio

Do I Think As a real Human Being Should ?

                          All glories to Srila Prabhupad.

Every human being should ask this question often to himself . This inquisitiveness will definitely take him to a position to begin the process of self realization. Why this is happening to me ? Why this is happening to me ? One should go on asking . What may be the cause of my good & bad fortunes ? How can I preserve my good ones & how can I control my bad ones .

Power of prayer

download

Hare Krishna.

I wrote in one of my previous blog that how I chant but do not pray to Lord so regularly.

Yesterday I was wondering why I pray so less. And this too when so many devotees   instructed me in the past to pray whenever I went to them with some difficulty in my spiritual progress. I had no clear answer. It is more bewildering when I look back and see that Srila Prabhupada, Lord Balarama, Guru Maharaj, whomsoever I prayed, those prayers have always been answered.

Thought Of The Day

Three kinds of happinesses, bhoga, tyaga, and bhakti, seva. Bhoga tyaga seva. The karmis, they are after bhoga, sense enjoyment. And the jnanis, they are after another side of negation of sense enjoyment. When one is fed up with sense enjoyment... Just like in your country, the young boys, they are practically fed up with the way of sense enjoyment as their fathers and grandfathers had done. So in the name of tyaga, renunciation, they have taken another kind of sense enjoyment -- intoxication, u

Hare Krishna.

When Guru Maharaj stayed with us last month he left a packet behind, it was already opened and when I took it out,  it had neem twigs. I reminded him of the packet after 2 days and he said he deliberately left them as  they were too hard for his gums. With a strange bit of coincidence I had received a mail mentioning Srila Prabhupada asking one of the devotees to get his some twigs from a tree during one of his pastimes in USA and spoke about using twigs from eucalyptus, mango and e

Freedom from Anger

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Once a sadhu was sitting on the bank of a river. He had just finished taking his meals and he wanted to have a tiny nap. Just as he was about to doze off, he saw a washerman walking down the bank, in his direction leading two donkeys loaded with dirty clothes. The sadhu thought, "Oh, I hope he doesn't come here. I am in no mood for small talk.. and he must smell awful. All those dirty clothes, those dirty donkeys." But t

Simplicity - Secret for Uninterrupted Seva

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Nowadays we have become so dependent on electrical and electronic appliances, that instead of being the masters of these appliances, we have become their slaves. Such dependency has a very bad influence on our physical and mental well-being as well. These artificial standards of life, only give us anxiety in the long run. Srila Prabhupada very nicely warns us in purport to verse 1.1.10, "Overeating, over-sense gratificat
