The Need of the Spirit Soul!!

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

The self is beyond the gross body and subtle mind. He is the potent active principle of the body and mind. Without knowing the need of the dormant soul, one cannot be happy simply with emolument of the body and mind. The body and the mind are but superfluous outer coverings of the spirit soul. The spirit soul's needs must be fulfilled. Simply by cleansing the cage of the bird, one does not satisfy the bird. One must act

"Atma, or self, is distinguished from matter and material elements. It is spiritual in constitution, and thus it is never satisfied by any amount of material planning.

Bhagavan means the almighty God who is the controller of all opulence, power, fame, beauty, knowledge and renunciation. He is the protector of His pure devotees. Although God is equally disposed to everyone, He is especially inclined to His devotees.

SB 9.21.12 - Vasudeva Datta made a statement to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, requesting the Lord to liberate all living entities in His presence. Vasudeva Datta submitted that if they were unfit to be liberated, he himself would take all their sinful reactions and suffer personally so that the Lord might deliver them. A Vaisnava is therefor

Woodstock 2013

2514919134?profile=original

Last year we decided to stream live video from Krishna’s Village of Peace at Przystanek Woodstock and give everyone a chance to be a part of the legendary Ratha Yatra’s Kirtans. As it was, devotees were talking about them through-out the year. Why not give even more devotees the chance to be a part of this fiesta? And it happened. It wasn’t the best - but it was a good start.

Fast forward a year. It’s the 23rd of July 2013, and we’re around half way through our planning. We only have 8 days l

There were 4 friends who used to be always engaged in practicing devotional life. One day they all decided to know the secret of their attraction & attachment for Krishna. Among the 4, one was a celibate, another a widower and the other 2 were householders. Each of them spoke about their motivation.

The 1st friend who was a celibate (brahmachary) said, “Since I am unmarried and do not have to bother about any material responsibilities so I try to utilize each moment of my life in practicing devot

Thought Of The Day

The Bhagavata has given designation to these people who are materially interested: pramatta. Tesam pramatya pasyann api..., nidhanam pasyann api na pasyati. I see that my father has died, my father's father has died, his father has died, and I am going to die; and similarly my son will die, my grandson will die, and therefore no more will come back again. Once this body is vanished, there is no chance of coming back; it is vanished forever, simply just like a bubble in the ocean. Still we are in

Scientist versus God

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada]

by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Despite their lofty claims about the advancement of science, scientists fail to provide any solution to the real problems of life.

When a scientist discovers something impressive to the ignorant mass of people, the common man, without inquiry, accepts such a discovery as wonderful. But the intelligent man is not struck with wonder by such discoveries. He gives all c

Srila Prabhupada Says - [Regarding how even though we are going to the Temple, chanting etc  if we continue to sin where is the question of purification?]

But if you want to solve this real problem, then you should take up this nivrtti-mÄrga. Nivrtti-marga means stop this way of sense gratification and take to Krsna consciousness. That is the way. If you continue your misbehavior, at the same time you want to cure your d

One verse in the Bhagavatam helps us in this connection, aham vetti suka vetti, vyasa vetti nivrtti va. This means that the real purpose of the Bhagavatam is difficult to conceive. The verse is spoken by Lord Siva and he says, "I know the purpose of the Bhagavatam, Sukadeva, the disciple and son of Vyasa, he knows it thoroughly, and Vyasa, the author of Bhagavatam, he may or may not know." When Lord Caitanya was teachin

Vaisnava Behaviours

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

SB 3.16.5 - A devotee should always see that his Vaisnava qualities increase with the advancement of his Krsna consciousness. A devotee should be blameless because any offense by the devotee is a scar on the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The devotee's duty is to be always conscious in his dealings with others, especially with another devotee of the Lord.

Sometimes,  some Devotees complain that Bhagavan Sri Krishna is not responding to their prayersThis is very surprising especially in view of Bhagavan's famous declaration in Bhagavad Gita, that He is easily available to His Bhakta.

It is a fact that, all sincere Devotees have a divine communication link with Sri Krishna. The effectiveness of this link depends on a few factors like:

1.    *SharanAgathi* ( taking shelter  )
