Thought Of The Day

Prabhupada: So, in this way, as soon as we understand or become convinced that I am not this body, then spiritual education begins. (If) I am different, then the next question will be, then what for I am working? Naturally at the present moment we are working for this body, maintenance of the body. For eating, sleeping, having facility for sex life or sense gratification and to protect this body from being harmed. This is our business. But if I am not this body, then, I am spirit soul, then the

In the recent past, a concern regarding the ongoing construction of the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium in Sridham Mayapur was raised within our community. As a result, this led to a view by some devotees that the Main Temple Dome might be structurally unstable.

This issue was addressed in detail in a pre GBC meeting held in Mumbai on Oct 19th 2013, wherein the Structural Engineer, the Contractor and the Architect in presence of the TOVP Managing Director and Ex Site Supervisor had a compreh

It’s Prabhupada’s mission

By His Grace Ravindra Svarupa Dasa

I think everybody has realized that congregational preaching has become more and more important because we discovered that all over the world, we have congregations. Thought Of The Day

Prabhupada: That people are not interested. Only officially chanting "God is great," that's all. These are the... You try to understand. Athato brahma jijnasa. This is the Vedanta-sutra. Go, inquire, be inquisitive. Jijnasuh sreya uttamam. Tasmad gurum prapadyeta jijnasuh sreya uttamam [SB 11.3.21]. One should be inquisitive. That is human life. And as soon as you become inquisitive, you become aware of God more and more, then your devotion increases. That is wanted.

Post from Spiritual Scientist

“My past has been so sinful. How can I possibly approach Krishna?” Such doubts may block us in our devotional journey.
Gita wisdom reassures us that Krishna focuses on our intentions for the future, not on our actions in the past. Using the journey metaphor, he focuses on where we want to go, not where we have been. He declares in his conclusive proclamation in the Bhagavad-gita (18.66) that he will free us from all our sinful reactions if we just surrender to him.
Of course, Krishna wants us to b

Q&A With Sankarshan Das Adhikari Maharaj

As you have mentioned in many of your mails, and so does Krishna in Bhagavad-gita, that this material world is full of miseries. Why is it that we fail to understand and realize this? In other words, we aren't always sad or distressed. Why is it so?

Please enlighten me with your wisdom
Your servant,

Hitesh Khanna

You are wondering why the material world is described as a place of misery when we are only sad or distressed some of the time, not all of the time. Actually we are miserable all the time,

Dangers of misusing Independence

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

By misusing his independence, the living entity falls down from the service of the Lord and takes a position in this material world as an enjoyer. That is to say, the living entity takes his position within a material body. Wanting to take a very exalted position, the living entity instead becomes entangled in a repetition of birth and death. He selects his position as a human being, a demigod, a cat, a dog, a tree, etc.

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, and took a nap under the shadow.

He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by, the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day.

One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad.

“Come and play with me”, the tree asked t
