Making the best use of the Time

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Srila Prabhupada was talking of utilization of time. Never do anything without thinking,  Am I eating this for Krsna? Am I speaking for Krsna?  This is so precious. On the morning walk, he said the park is built simply to waste time. One devotee pointed out that leisure time is a problem and the government is trying to figure out what people could do. Srila Prabhupada said that our task is to engage the people’s time in

What is the principle of chanting ?

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

The principle of chanting is to glorify the Lord and not to attract a crowd.  If Krishna hears nicely then He will ask some sincere devotee to gather in such place.

Fish Out of Water

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Everyone in the material world is engaged in all kinds of political, philanthropic and humanitarian activities to make material life happy and prosperous, but this is not possible. One should understand that in the material world, however one may try to make adjustments, he cannot be happy. To cite an example, if you take a fish out of water, you can give it a very comfortable velvet bedstead, but still the fish cannot b

Thought Of The Day

You are falsely thinking "I am everything. I can, by technological understanding, improve the condition." But the real problem is, as it is put forward by Bhagavad-gita, janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam [Bg. 13.9]. We are eternal, na hanyate hanyamane sarire [Bg. 2.20]. We are put under the laws of material nature, by which we have to accept birth, death, old age and disease. This is our real problem. So unless you make a solution of these problems, there is actually no advancement

Thought Of The Day

Prabhupada: But if you don't follow the instruction in Bhagavad-gita directly or indirectly.... Krsna says sarva-dharman parityajya [Bg. 18.66], if you do not do that and because you may not understand Krsna.... But Krsna also says tad viddhi pranipatena... You do not go to a seer, then how you'll understand Krsna? You do not understand directly or indirectly. Then you are hopeless.

A Taste of Salted Bread

In the former Soviet Union, Hare Krishna devotees risked being imprisoned and tortured for distributing Srila Prabhupada's books.

The book emphasizes Sachisuta's dedication and subsequent imprisonment. These excerpts, drawn from most of the chapters in Salted Bread, were selected by BTG Associate Editor Urmil
