Value of Vaishnava Association

Value of Vaishnava Association

Once the great sage Narada was intrigued by a doubt. He was sure that Lord Vishnu would clear it for him. He proceeded to the Ocean of Milk and found his Lord reclining on the giant hooded serpent-bed Shankarshana, Hisbeautiful consort, Lakshmi devi beside Him.

Sage Narada made his obeisance to Lord Vishnu and put his question to Him.
"Oh Lord, what is the value of Vaishnava Satsang, the Association ofVaishnava Devotees?"
Lord Vishnu smiled charmingly and said, "I will

This taking of prasadam.

This taking of prasadam.

prasadam.jpgMany devotees think that by eating prasadam, an animal will get a human body in its next life and if a human being eats prasadam he will become a devotee in his next life. In this lecture (S.B. 1.16.23) dated January 19 th 1974 in Hawai, Srila Prabhupada gives clear informations on this subject matter:

"Bali-mardana: I believe I've heard you said in other lectures that a person who takes prasadam, even a plant or a..., any kind of living entity who takes prasadam or hea

Krsna is very beautiful

Bearded Allen Ginsberg -- popular American "beat" poet and LSD promoter of '60s fame -- was in Sydney for poetry recitals. He arrived at the temple mid-afternoon to see Srila Prabhupada. The devotees explained to him that Prabhupada was resting at his house. He quickly left, promising to return later. Ginsberg, however, never returned.

The blue Kombi van was regularly being used to pick up Srila Prabhupada from his Renny Street house and drive him to the temple for the even

What Are You Doing for Cow Protection?

2514830535?profile=original

By HH Sivarama Swami

Krsi goraksya vanijya. Krsi means ploughing or agriculture and goraksya, cow protection. These are the staples of society, this is what people live on. All living entities subsist on grains. So the ksatriyas may direct and instruct people, the brahmanas may perform their yajnas, but if they don’t eat then giving shelter or instruction is not going to work.

That eating is therefore the most essential aspect of life and this is why the vaisyas and their assistants, the sudras, a

Attitude

1) Heavy rains remind us of challenges in life. Never ask for a lighter rain. Just pray for a better umbrella. That is attitude.

2) When flood comes, fish eat ants & when flood recedes, ants eat fish. Only time matters. Just hold on, God gives opportunity to everyone!

3) Some people always throw stones in your path. It depends on you what you make with them, Wall or Bridge? Remember you are the architect of your life.

4)Every problem has (n+1) solutions, where n is the number of solutions tha

The Four Syllable & Five Syllable Mantras

2514853465?profile=original

Gaura-gopala mantra-mantra composed of the four syllables ra-dha-krs-na.

Gaura Mantra the four syllable mantra is ”gau-ra-an-ga”

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura explains the Gaura-gopala mantra in his Amrta-pravaha-bhasya. Worshipers of Sri Gaurasundara accept the four syllables gau-ra-an-ga as the Gaura mantra, but pure worshipers of Radha and Krsna accept the four syllables ra-dha krs-na as the Gaura-gopala mantra. However, Vaisnavas consider Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu nondifferent from Radha-Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Answer Summary: Yes, they definitely have that right, but the issue is not of rights, but of sending the right message about ourselves to others. When rights blind us to the right, we brand the right - modest dressing - as wrong, as old-fashioned.
Answer:
Today’s culture makes women believe that they have the right to wear any kind of dress, no matter how revealing. Those women who buy into this belief bristle at any sugge

Sex urge will not disturb them!

1968 Correspondence

If they are strong enough in Krishna Consciousness any amount of sex urge will not disturb them. Even it disturbs, it will come and go, Krishna is Madan Mohan, or the Enchanter of Cupid. And Cupid is the god of sex desire. So if anyone wants to enchant Cupid, instead of being enchanted by Cupid, he must take shelter of the Enchanter of Cupid, Sri Krishna.
Letter to Brahmananda -- Los Angeles 21 January, 1968:

The Agony and the Ecstasy

In this material world everyone needs some-thing to look forward to because generally no one is satisfied with his present condition. They are hoping that in the future, in some other situation or with some other person, they will experience happiness. The working man is always waiting for payday, the student is looking toward summer vacation, the lover is wishing to meet his beloved, the little boy can’t wait to grow up.

The materialist becomes so

We have to understand that the Holy Dham is controlled by Vrindavanehsvari. She won't let you to hurt its residents. She won't let you to continue your offenses even in the mind. Because you are very dear to Her. By putting you to difficult situations She will stop you from making offenses. And She wants you to have humble consciousness. She wants you to surrender to the will of Her Beloved Krishna.
We should have the next mood:

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

By His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Material things mean forgetfulness of Krishna. Otherwise there is nothing material. It is illusion. Illusion means actually there is nothing material. How can it be material? If the Supreme Lord is the Supreme Spirit and everything is coming from Him, so what we call the material energy, is also coming from the Supreme. Inferior energy means where there is possibil

All ashrams are needed

Srila Prabhupada returned by 7:30 a.m. and entered the ground floor of the house for a short morning program. The downstairs consists mainly of a hallway, guest bedroom, pantry, kitchen, a large living room with an adjoining dining area. The devotees have put Srila Prabhupada's vyasasana, which is usually kept upstairs, in the dining room and a simple Pancatattva altar faces it from the opposite end of the living room. The yatra here may be small but is certainly not poor.

When a touchstone touches iron, it turns the iron to gold.  Parvata Muni called Narada Muni a touchstone because by his touch the hunter, who was the lowest among men, became an elevated and perfect Vaisnava.  Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura said that the position of a Vaisnava can be tested by seeing how good a touchstone he is,  that is, by seeing how many Vaisnavas he has made during his life.  A Vaisnava should be a touchstone so that he can convert others to Vaisnavism by his preaching,

Money, Krishna, and Us

Money, Krishna, and Us

September 25, 2011
Submitted by:
Vishakha Devi Dasi

How we value, acquire, use, and relate to money reflects our inner state of being.

Sri Sukadeva Goswami said, "Money does not stay in one place. It passes from one hand to another. Ultimately no one can enjoy money, and it remains the property of the Supreme Personality of Godhead." (Srimad-Bhagavatam 5.14.24) Money is God's energy. He created it, He owns it, and He controls it: "Everything animate or inanimate that is within

Part one. Mars, Jupiter and Saturn

Their distances per Srimad Bhagavatam 5th Canto, is explained here. I shall be using the symbol / for division and the symbol x for multiplication.

In our previous calculations we have used the 0 degree celestial or planetary orbit around Earth's equator for our equations. Now we must use Venus's lowest orbit to derive the distance to Mars.

Venus 's orbit around the equator must be divided by cos (27.8). The
