In spiritual parlance there are ‘thin’ places in the world. These are holy places, sacred spaces, where the line between the spiritual and materials worlds is very thin and the ability to feel and perceive our relationship with Krishna is heightened. It’s easier to chant there, to call Krishna deeply from the heart, and thus to call ourselves to experience our spiritual selves.
There are also thin days (and even thin times in the day). Janmastami is one such day.

“…. So, this bhakti, devotional service of Kṛṣṇa, is so nice. And under that bhakti category, this Janmāṣṭamī… Of course, this Janmāṣṭamī ceremony is observed by all Hindus. Irrespective of becoming Vaiṣṇava or not, this ceremony is observed in India, every home. Just like in your Western countries the Christmas is observed in every home, similarly, Janmāṣṭamī is observed in every home. Today is a great ceremonial day.

At this time we have no additional information that the government of India has initiated this textbook inclusion or if this textbook is being used across India.

There had never been a day like this, nor night

Planets repositioned to create a heavenly sight

Prominent was the star, Rohini, so bright

A pervading peace kept at bay any tendency to fight

Such was the cosmic sky on that day, and what of the Earth?

Lotus flowers, trees, and rivers were welcoming a new birth

Unbounded joy, lightness, and expressions of mirth

Were centered around a bundle of Absolute Worth

Tucked away in a royal prison was a woman, a man

And a person,

Dr. Sunil Sachdev decided he wanted to fly in, from his home in Vancouver, for a visit to help me during my rehab. He is a specialist with eyes. He had a vision and a heart to see how he could pitch in. So, this morning we phoned an Ayurvedic clinic which offers natural healing through a system of panca-karma. He also booked me in for shiatsu. I do have friends in this field but you have to know Sunil. He gets over excited with service; either that or most other people I know usually under achi

I wanted to layout some likely consequences and a possible plan how cow protection can be shaped to supply the needs of a city of 50,000 people in a modern setting. I have chosen India as that setting as it relates to a desire for our own ISKCON Mayapura City in West Bengal to have a population of 50,000.

The setting is important as it influences the types of breeds of cows you can select as your herd base and the likely yields of milk etc that can be expected. For example

Having gained spiritual strength in Pandharpur dhama for our preaching mission, on July 27 the Maharashtra Padayatra resumed and headed for Kasegaon village 10km away. Our spiritual master, Lokanath Maharaja, blessed us for the journey ahead and he and several temple devotees walked with us to the outskirts of Pandharpur.

As we made our way towards Kasegaon singing and dancing, we stopped briefly for a rest. We unyoked the oxen and were all sitt
