Temple means an opportunity

The Four Kumaras, Sanaka-kumaradi, they were first of all
impersonalists, but after smelling the tulasi leaves which were
offered to the lotus feet of Visnu, they become personalists. So this
is an opportunity. If anyone comes, smells the flowers and the tulasi
offered to Krsna, tastes the prasada, and sees the Lord's form, in
this way he develops Krsna consciousness. So this is opportunity.

This temple means an opportunity, a process, a simple process. Not
simple for ordinary man, but actually it is s

That is the philosophy

That is the philosophy.

srimad.jpgThe aim is to satisfy Visnu. We should always remember this fact, that we are eternally servant, part and parcel of Krsna, or Visnu. As I have given many times the example, there are so many parts of the body, but what are they meant for? To satisfy the belly. You are walking, you are catching, you are thinking, you are doing so many things -- what is the aim? The aim is satisfy the stomach. You cook, you earn hard money, and then you purchase goods and cook nicely and p

Why Does the Gita Encourage Violence?

Why Does the Gita Encourage Violence?

Sometimes people ask, "The Gita tells Arjuna to not hesitate in killing his relatives because for the soul there is no death. Will this logic not become a license for all murderers to justify their crimes?"

In the Gita, Lord Krishna gives the knowledge of the soul, not to encourage unnecessary violence, but to guide all aspects of human behavior, including the enlightened application of violence. Violence in itself is not bad; it depends on who is involved an

Modern day cities ...

Hare Krishna Friends,

There are three modes of nature, goodness, passion and ignorance, under whose influence this entire material world functions. Things are created in passion, maintained under the influence of goodness, and destroyed by ignorance. Passion is very pleasing initially, but after some time brings distress and suffering. Goodness is unpleasant initially, but later is actually joyful. And ignorance is trouble from beginning to end.

Modern day cities are under the influence of passio

Why God Doesn't Force Us to Be Good?

Question: Why God Doesn't Force Us to Be Good?

I firmly believe that God is everywhere and that without Him we cannot do anything. He will just show us two paths in life: good and bad and leave the choice to us. It is we who decide which one to take for the rest of our life. Even when we take the wrong path, why does not He prevent us at the very first time?

I always have this doubt and now I found a platform for clarifying it. Kindly clear my doubts.

How can one become a devotee?

Bhagavad-gita is understood by devotee. He may be illiterate. It
doesn't matter. As Caitanya Mahaprabhu certified the illiterate
brahmana who was reading Bhagavad-gita in Ranganatha temple.

The brahmana was illiterate. His guru ordered him that "You read
Bhagavad-gita daily, eighteen chapters." So he could not refuse the
order of guru maharaja; so he was taking the book and simply seeing.
So those who knew that he was illiterate, they were criticizing,
"Well, brahmana, how you are reading Bhagavad-gita

Wife should be faithful

As I gave Srila Prabhupada his massage this evening he told me about proper marital relations, especially the need for the wife to be faithful. He has been working steadily on his translation and commentaries of the Ninth Canto, and he told me a story from the third chapter illustrating the ideal attitude a woman should have toward her husband.

He said that Sukanya was a beautiful young princess, who by circumstance had to marry an extremely old Cyavana Muni. I was massagin

We are not capable of chanting sixty four rounds

Complaints about Nitai dasa have been increasing daily. Apparently, he has been telling the devotees that it is not possible to go back to Godhead in this life unless one chants 100,000 names of Krsna (about sixty-four rounds) every day. He has been claiming that if one only chants sixteen rounds, it will take many births. Many devotees are affected by this nonsense, which Nitai got from some "advanced devotee" in Govardhana.

Prabhupada said he has

Every animal in spiritual world

Harikesa recalled that last year the monkeys in Seva-kunja had attacked Upendra, snatching his prasadam and biting him in the leg.

Prabhupada was a bit surprised "Achha?" Then he said that previously the government was capturing the monkeys in Vrndavana and selling them at a good price for medical purposes in Europe, until people protested. "The monkey's hormone is injected or replaced so one regains his sex power," he said. "They are very sexually strong."
