31267371680?profile=RESIZE_584xI’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to be part of a Vaiṣṇava community in 2026.

Not really in terms of rules or institutional policy or who is doing things right or wrong. I mean something deeper than that.

What do we actually value?

What do we remember?

Who do we see?

And what do we feel responsible for carrying forward?

My dad [Badrinarayan Swami] leaving this world has made me think about this much more deeply than I have before.

He gave almost sixty years of his life to Śrīla

Perfect happiness in this world is just a dream thing

Once there lived a king named Citraketu in the province of Surasena. Owing to his piety and righteousness, his kingdom flourished. There was one problem though. The king had no issue. Although he married one bride after another in order to have progeny, nonetheless all of them tur

Another Janmashtami by Bhaktimarga Swami

Wherever there is Krishna, there will be a crowd. When Indresh Gaura and family put on a party, it is going to be big. To accommodate such an event their large home in Vaughn makes it happen. Police security was there at the entrance of Radha Road, making sure that parking arrangements are efficient space-wise.

I arrived early with members of the Bhakti Academy. Shoe space was ample just because we were ahead of the game. The greeting at the door was cheerful and welcoming, thanks to Kishori.

From Back to Godhead

Because many factors influence the way we see the world, too much faith in our own perspective can be materially and spiritually dangerous.

My husband and I were counseling a couple and making progress, but then we reached an impasse. The husband insisted that his perceptions of the couple’s interactions were reality and anything different from those perceptions was false or illusory. In other words, his wife’s view was wrong if it differed from his. My husband and I did ou

A sign of a good leader is that he does not request those under him to do something that he is not prepared to do. So before we desire to distribute this Vedic culture to the whole world, we ourselves have to be following it in such a way that nobody can find even a minute discrepency in our practice. People are too attached to their sense gratification and wont be so readily eager to give it up, and although they may have some attraction to the Vedic culture, if the mind can find an excuse for

By Hayagriva dasa. From the book The Hare Krsna Explosion,
a reminiscence of the early days of the Hare Krsna Movement.

On September 8, 1966, we celebrated Lord Krsna’s birthday ( Janmastami ) on New York’s Lower East Side by fasting all day and chanting until midnight. About twelve of us bought beads for chanting, a hundred and eight red, round beads the size of marbles. Srila Prabhupada told us that they represented the hundred and eight  gopis  (cowherd girls) who sported with Lord Krsna. I

31267188257?profile=RESIZE_584xNepali hydropower foreman Sanjay Sah was rescued on September 4 after surviving nine days trapped inside a tunnel following the devastating floods and landslides along the Trishuli River. During the long ordeal, Sah told those who found him, “I was chanting Hare Krishna mahamantra for the past nine days,” holding on to hope until rescuers reached him.

The 30-year-old foreman said he had remained behind to warn and help other workers escape after learning of the approaching disaster. By the time

Walking The Street by Bhaktimarga Swami

31267148478?profile=RESIZE_400xNavin, Rsi and I decided to walk more or less in a straight line west on Bloor Street to everyone’s favourite park. From there we would Uber our way back to the temple ashram, our starting point.

What did we see along the way? Well, the city is all hyped-up about TIFF — Toronto International Film Festival, one of the largest and most influential publicly attended in the world. There is a buzz. By the way, as the sun was descending, Navin happened to spot a buzzard, not exactly a turkey vultur

When it comes to the issue of defending ourselves, most devotees would rather skip the topic. However, if we simply look at India, or its surrounding countries, it becomes obvious that there are elements in society that would like to see the diminishment of Vedic culture, or even its complete extermination. So, if we are attacked, do we simply depend on Krishna? Do we prepare ourselves for defensive action? Or do we use some of both? What does Srila Prabh

Lean towards peace by Bhaktimarga Swami
