Param Dayal Nityananda das: Members of ISKCON understand that truth can be found in other teachings, but falsity is also found in many of them. As such, to properly represent Srila Prabhupada, we have to be able to see if someone is following a teaching which contains some truth, which we can add to, or if it contains fallacies we should expose. Of course Srila Prabhupada ordered us to present things nicely. When I moved into the Boston Temple in 1980 I was told that preaching to a newcomer was

Personal Letters from Srila Prabhupada

As a genuine spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada takes personal responsibility for the advancement of each of his students in the spiritual life of Krsna consciousness. Although now his transcendental instructions are available in book form, when Srila Prabhupada first began the Krsna consciousness movement, the only way his new disciples could get the answers to their many questions was to ask Srila Prabhupada personal

Sanskrt is a great language

Sanskrt is a great language, this is the language of the God. I've started to learn it in 2012, because archeology is my key to the truth. Ancient things on my opinion are more truthfull than new ones. I found that the first human word in many languages is MATA -- maybe because the soul who born on the Earth has a strong material desire. And there are very many similar words in Sanskrt, English and Slavic(Russian, Ukrainian) languages.

Mother Mata MATi

From our childhood in our academics, so many times we have been taught that human is a social animal and he can not live without interactions. When we interact with the other persons, we are bound to built up some sort of relationship. That interactions lead to relationships and relationships implies expectations. Love in Separation

Hare Krishna.

Whenever I heard about `love in separation' I could never comprehend fully that how could someone be near us and yet we would feel separation from him/her. Whenever this topic would come up during the lectures I would get bewildered as I could not understand howsoever hard I would try to `feel' it.

I am ashamed to admit that I still do not feel any separation with Lord or my Guru Maharaj or my shiksha Guru, rather I feel the opposite ! That they are always near me and many a time

Chanting means Calling Him personally

Chanting means Calling Him personally

In general, when we attempt to make a phone call to a very important person how much we try to:

  • Take care of surroundings without disturbance and for proper signal
  • Go to a closed room or a secluded place for clear voice
  • Cautiously and Consciously wait for his response
  • Keenly observe the status of dialing to ringing to connecting till the person responds to our call
  • Discard all other activities and with all attention we are ready with a humble response

The idea is, when we chant the holy names

Prasadam

Srila Prabhupada…"Because this body belongs to Krishna, and we are using it in His service, it should be kept in good working order. A little dal, a little rice, some vegetable and a few chapatties is a substantial diet, along with a little fruit and milk.

Two cups of milk a day is sufficient. The Ayurvedic system of eating is to decide how much you can comfortably eat, then take half of that amount, filling the remaining half one quarter with water and leaving one quarter for air. This simple

What is love of Godhead ?

Hare Krishna.

26th Feb, 2014, Gurgaon.

Q: Where and how can we get real love in our lives ?
A: Srila Prabhupada explains in the introduction of Chaitanaya Charitramrita :

Even in this material world we can have a little sense of love. How is this possible? It is due to the presence of our original love of God. Whatever we find within our experience within this conditioned life is situated in the Supreme Lord, who is the ultimate source of everything. In our original relationship with the Supreme Lo

Weapons to face the challenges

Our consciousness shapes our vision. External world may not change for us or will never change for us but if we purify our consciousness then the way we see the world will drastically change. Just before the Mahabharata war Arjuna was in a miserable situation failing to understand the righteous and unrighteous path. But Krishna’s guidance completely transformed his life. The situation for Arjuna remained the same. He had to fight the war; he had to fight against his great grandfather Bhisma, gur

A Lotus in the Redwoods

2515241391?profile=original

By Karnamrita Das

Some persons caught up in the counter-culture of the late '60's and '70's felt that all materiel prospects were void and society's status quo, miserable stagnation. Thus, as if in a life and death battle, they intensely felt compelled to search out meaning and happiness on the spiritual quest, appearing as their only hope. This free verse poem, inspired by the months I spent in the redwood forest in Muir Woods in Marin County [near San Francisco, California], condenses the bac
