By Kulavati Krishnapriya Devi Dasi

Recently, the Mayapur Academy held its second deity worship course for children in Sri Mayapur Dham. The initiative aims to facilitate a personal relationship between Krsna and the children in a devotionally inspiring and authentic way.

From Gopal Campu by Srila Jiva Goswami and and Ananda Vrindavan Campu by Kavi Karnapura

In Gopal Campu Srila Jiva Goswami describes that the father of Nanda and Upnanda was Sri Parjanya who was chief of the cowherds in the lineage of the Yadus. Sri Parjanya had five sons. When he retired from family life he installed his eldest son Sri Upnanda as heir. Upnanda accepted the title in accordance with his father’s wish but he immediately deferred the title of chief to his younger brother Sri Nanda.

The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust’s long-anticipated release of Gopiparanadhana Prabhu’s posthumas translation of and commentary on Sri Laghu-bhagavatamrta has finally arrived. This work is particularly important to the devotees of ISKCON because its author is Srila Rupa Gosvami, whose Upadesamtra and Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu are foundational texts of ISKCON’s canon. Indeed, ISKCON’s Founder-acarya, Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in The Nectar of Devotion (his summary study of Bhakti-rasa

Srila Prabhupada Reveals Vrindavana to the World

It was 500 years ago that Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu predicted that the holy names of Krishna would be chanted in every town and village throughout the world. His Divine Grace. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada appeared in this world just to fulfill the divine prophecy of Lord Chaitanya.

Acting on the order of Lord Chaitanya, Rupa and Sanatana Goswamis established Vrindavana as a sacred place of pilgrimage for the devotees of Lord Krishna. However, the people outside India had heard nothing abou

My prayers

Hare Krishna.

The first time I prayed with all my heart was when HG Sarvabhauma Prabhuji came to Punjabi Bagh temple and gave a lecture on atonement almost two years back. I used to feel a lot of guilt over my past karma and did not know how to get rid of them or ask forgiveness from all the people whom I hurt. All the past incidents would come into my thoughts as I would chant, it was getting difficult to chant. In the lecture Prabhuji mentioned that apart from our own lack of courage to face pe

Sri Radha, Manjari Bhava, and Bhavollasa Rati

Sri Radha, Manjari Bhava, and Bhavollasa Rati

By Swami B. V. Tripurari

Gaudiya Vaishnavas are fond of chanting “Jaya Radhe!” Love of Radha, Sri Krishna’s principle consort, is central to this theistic school of Vedanta. Such love is described as the brightest jewel of sacred aesthetic rapture, unnatojjvala rasa. This love is accessible to devotees following in the footsteps of Sri Rupa Goswami both in terms of his teaching onbhakti rasa in general and in terms of his own personal ideal of sacred ae

I was shocked to learn this morning that my old friend and colleague Gopiparanadhana Prabhu had left his body suddenly at Govardhana. Just a few days ago I sent him a chapter of his Laghu-bhagavatamrta translation I had been reviewing — and now he’s gone. What a loss for our Society and the world! He was a pure and vastly learned Vaisnava who impressed everyone with his firm faith in and loyalty to Srila Prabhupada and his movement, his genuine humility, his warm and open personality, and hi

Book Distribution or Love Distribution?

The term ‘Book Distribution’ stirs up different emotions in all of us. For some it is agony, and for others it is ecstasy. What is it about this devotional activity that generates such an extreme degree of conflicting emotions? Through this article, I humbly attempt to present to my respected Vaisnava readers some thoughts to uncover the real nature or ‘svarupa laksana’ of transcendental book distribution.

I invite you to take a step back in time. It’s the late 1970’s. Picture a teenager with a b

Sri Baladeva Vidyabhusana

Srimad Baladeva Vidyabhusana Prabhu was a pure devotee of the highest order, who cared for nothing but the service of the Lord. He didn't have a spot of desire for name and fame. He was the composer of many scriptures which are as priceless as precious gems, for the ultimate benefit of all those who have taken human birth.
The exact location of his birth, the names of his mother and father, and their family tree is not known. The exact circumstances of his birth and childhood are, therefore, unk

Shrimad Birchandra or Birabhadra Prabhu took birth within this world on the ninth day of the dark moon in the month of Kartik, which corresponds to the divine appearance day of Shri Shrimad Bhakti Raksaka Shridhar Maharaja. Shri Krishna das Kaviraja Goswami writes (CC Adi 11.8-12):

"Shri Nityananda Prabhu is the topmost branch of the indestructible tree of eternal love of Godhead, Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu...From that branch grow many branches and sub-branches...After Nityananda
