Bali-mardana and Vegavan were assigned the task of cooking Prabhupada's lunch. Determined to make a better effort than the previous day, they decided to make kacauris, and entered the kitchen early with the handwritten recipe.

During his stay in Malaysia, Prabhupada had met an Indian gentleman whose wife was from Mathura. She had cooked kacauris for Srila Prabhupada which were so perfectly made that Prabhupada asked Bali-mardana and Vegavan to learn how to cook them from her.
