They asked me to speak on the philosophy of Lord Nityananda. We heard the pastimes first. Maharaj like to give the sweet words but of course everything about Lord Nityananda is ecstatic and very blissful.

I want to thank Radhanath Swami for his very much appreciated lecture on how Lord Nityananda was first in Ekacakra; also how H

One needs to be Faithful

One needs to be Faithful

The impersonalists are full of duplicity. Sometimes they pretend to execute devotional service, but their ultimate idea is to become one with the Supreme. This is duplicity, kapata.

The Bhagavatam does not allow this duplicity.

In the beginning of Srimad-Bhagavatam it is clearly stated, paramo nirmatsaranam: [SB 1.1.2] "This treatise Srimad-Bhagavatam is meant for those who are completely free from envy."

The same point is again stressed here. Unless one is completely fa

Don’t let success go to your head

Don’t let success go to your head

There’s an alarming trend: People who have had some degree of good fortune and success tend to lose their humility and become at least slightly arrogant. This is very unfortunate for many reasons. First, and most obviously, no one really wants to be around someone who is arrogant or self-absorbed. It’s boring, and it’s annoying! Arrogance implies a lack of gratitude. The assumption is, “I did this all by myself; it’s all about me.”

Do You Have Love For It

0203_mad_2_1.jpg
Recently I read an article written by Satsvarupa Maharaja - he was asking himself the following questions.
Do you pay attention to Hare Krishna mantra when you chant? Do you have love for it?
This got me thinking about my own chanting and how much I have love for chanting - the answer was yes and no. Yes I like to chant, I wouldn't say I love to chant but I like it and I love it when I feel the Lord's spiritual energy.
It's an important point....we need to feel the spiritual energy of the Lord when

Main business is liberation

Prabhupada stated in class this morning that our main business is liberation. And simply by understanding who Krsna is, we can be liberated. The verse mentioned Krsna as Devaki-suta, the son of Devaki, and Prabhupada took this up as the main point in his short class. "Why He shall not appear as the son? Why you shall restrict? God is not under your restriction; that is God. If He becomes under your rules and regulation, then He's not God. That is inconceivable. He's th

"Nectar of Srimad-Bhagavatam" launched

2514816837?profile=original

In the late 1960s, while Srila Prabhupada was translating and commenting on his monumental edition of the Srimad-Bhagavatam, heconceived of writing a book which would contain the essential teachings of the Bhagavatam as he was not sure how long he wouldremain manifest on this planet. He then composed a summary study of the most celebrated portion of the Bhagavatam, the Tenth Canto, andentitled it Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He often referred to it as the “Krsna book”.

Everyone Goes Back to Godhead?

Answers According to the Vedic Version:

Question: Everyone Goes Back to Godhead?

Will all living entities eventually make it back to Godhead? Is there a need of a material world eternally?

D.P.

Answer: Yes, But Others Will Still Come Here

All the living entities who are currently in this material world will eventually return to their original positions in the spiritual world never to return again to this material world. However, there will still be a need for the existence of the material world in o

srila prabhupada said...!!!

Mukunda was also present with Prabhupada in his room, along with a small group of devotees, when an earthquake took place. The telephone poles and wires began moving outside the window. The building trembled. No one said anything until Srila Prabhupada said, "What is this?" A devotee replied, "It's an earthquake, Swamiji." Srila Prabhupada said, "Oh." And then the earthquake suddenly stopped. Everyone present was very intent on Prabhupada's reaction. He said, "We can just sit down and chant Har

What is saralata( SIMPLICITY)

"G u r u     m u k h     p a d m a     v a k y a"

What is saralata……………….Nectarean Mellows

Simplicity is one of the most beautiful spiritual virtues. In fact Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur quotes several times in this regard, he says that you can’t really begin the path of Bhakti truly without saralata - without simplicity. What is simplicity? Prabhupada explains it in many different ways and they should be very attentively understood. One place Prabhupada explains, simplicity means wi

Krishna consciousness is that state of mind in which one is completely free from all disturbance. But a neophyte devotee who is still trying to develop his Krishna consciousness is not purely absorbed in Krishna consciousness yet and therefore sometimes experiences disturbances of mind as he struggles to advance himself along the path of bhakti.

What should he do when such disturbances arise? He should certainly not abandon the pathway of Krishna consciousness thinking that because he could not

Never satisfied with what we have

There is a devotee here from Chicago, Trana-karta dasa, who is very interested in singing different bhajanas. Several times I have heard him sing jaya radha-madhava, jaya kunja-bihari, jaya gopi-jana-vallabha, jaya giri-vara-dhari, jaya giri-vara-dhari, rather than sing it the way Srila Prabhupada does. In view of what Prabhupada recently said about not changing anything given by the acaryas I approached Trana-karta and asked him where he had learned this new ver

"G u r u m u k h p a d m a v a k y a"Every moment Krsna is incarnating Himself……………….Nectarean MellowsEvery moment is so precious. Srimad Bhagavatam says – ‘with every rising and setting of the sun, a materialistic person in closer to death’. We only have so many moments to live in this world and there is a danger at every moment in this world. So every moment that we are wasting the opportunity to fix our mind on Krsna and serve Krsna, every moment that we are trying to enjoy this material exis

Friendship between Vaishnavas: Conquer the Heart

The family of vaishnavas is somehow or other our support. Prabhupada made this movement a very personal one. In the beginning, we overlook how important relationships are because we are not used to it. In the material world, when a relationship doesn’t work, you just cut it off and try another one.... then another one and another one.

Now I’m not talking just about friendships... so many friends came and went in our lives in the material world but
