FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truly, Faith is the life-giving tree of Bliss,It stems from the root of devotion,It is nourished by the determination of the devotee,It flowers by the Grace of the Guru,It fructifies with the Blessings of the Lord,And then it reaches out to the hearts of others,To seed, and take root, once again…Thank you Devotees for the seeds you have sown,For Faith is the offspring of Faith, in oneself and in others… :)

Krishna Hypnotizes His Devotees

Narada is astonished, What kind of hypnotism you do, I do not know. In spite of being placed in so much inconveniences, the Pandavas love for You has increased. This is Krishna consciousness. The pure devotees, if they are put into difficulty they take it, Oh, it is Krishna’s grace.

Prabhupada: So our duty is as, I mean to say, indicated by Narada Muni. Our only duty is how to achieve full Krishna consciousness. Other things, there is no need of trying. Actually, I have seen that in India… Everyw

Cleansing the Unclean Heart

(From a conversation with a community relations officer with the
Chicago police department)

Lieutenant Mozee: Would there be more of a beneficial influence-more
of a strengthening of the community-if the program [congregational
chanting] were held in a poorer area rather than an affluent area?

Srila Prabhupada: Our treatment is for the spiritually diseased
person. When a person is afflicted with a disease, there are no
distinctions between a poor man and a rich man. They are both admitted
to the same ho

THE PREEMINENT NATURE OF THE SRIMAD-BHAGAVATAM

Many quotations regarding the extraordinary importance of the Bhagavatam can be found in several other Puranas, such as the Bhagavata-Mahatmya section of the Padma Purana, wherein we find such verses as the following:

The holy scripture known as Srimad-Bhagavatam was expounded in this age of Kali by the sage Sukadeva Gosvami [Vyasadeva’s son] with the object of completely destroying the fear of being caught in the jaws of the serpent of time. T

Surrender

You write to say that simply you want to surrender, but according to the
preface of T.L.C. you'll find that surrender means (1) to Act favorably to
develop Krishna Consciousness; (2) to reject everything unfavorable; (3) to
have full faith in Krishna that He will give protection to His pure devotee;
(4) to keep oneself as one of the dependent devotees of the Lord; (5) to
have no separate interest besides the interest of the Lord; (6) to always
feel meek and humble. These six things are surrender, And

Misinterpretation of the Mayavadis

Question: Misinterpretation of the Mayavadis

My dear Srila Gurudeva,

Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and to Your Grace.

I have a question after listening yesterday to a devotee preaching. He was saying that although we have lots of different groups in the "Hindu" "religion", we have the same books. It raised a question to my mind: Do these groups interpret the books differently or do they choose what they find the most important and stress on that? He gave t

A brahmana must be clean

Sometime later, just before dawn, Srila Prabhupada rang his bell. Bali-mardana and Vegavan, tired from the late night before, had slept in. But Prabhupada, who had also been up late because of the interview, had been awake for hours. Srila Prabhupada rang his bell again and this time, as Bali-mardana leapt for the shower, Vegavan staggered, dishevelled and bleary-eyed into Prabhupada's room.

Prabhupada admonished his disciple: "You are a brahmana, and you haven't even clea

Dealing with concerns

Dealing with concerns

As far as salvation is concerned, one has to conquer the principles of lust, anger, unlawful desires, avarice and bewilderment.

To get freedom from anger, one should learn how to forgive.

To be free from unlawful desires one should not make plans.

By spiritual culture one is able to conquer sleep.

By tolerance only can one conquer desires and avarice.

Disturbances from various diseases can be avoided by regulated diets.

By self-control one can be free from false hopes, and mon

Question and Vedic Answers

Question and Vedic Answers

Q1. Why are there many Gods in Hinduism?

A1.

No. There is only one God.

The Vedic scriptures clearly state that there is only one God, and his name is Krishna. But Krishna has many incarnations and so he is known with many names and descriptions. This is what confuses many people, including some Hindus.

Here are some quotes from the Bhagavad-Gita, which is the essence of all Vedic knowledge.

“The whole cosmic order is under me. By my will it is manifested again and again, an

What Is The Goal?

Similarly there is spiritual austerity. We voluntarily undergo some inconvenience but what is the goal? To please Krishna, and by this austerity I will make spiritual advancement. If in order to make spiritual advancement I have to make some sacrifice I should do that. After all that is the goal of life. So the strength to practice austerity comes from the process of Sravanam-Kirtanam and especially when this process is executed in the association of devotees.

The Bhagavad-Gita(Q & A)

The Bhagavad-Gita(Q & A)

What is the Bhagavad-Gita?

The Bhagavad-Gita is the divine conversation between a man named Arjuna and God himself in the human form, Lord Krishna. It is literally the word of God in person. The conversation took place in the middle of a battleground, 5000 years ago, just before the start of a great war in Kurukshetra, India.

The Bhagavad-Gita gives information regarding God (Ishwar), the living entities like you and me (the jivas), time (Kala), activities (karma), and mate

Hari Om Tatsat!

Haribol! The general religious hindus observe or worship Ganesh before doing any activity because he removes all obstacles. The Sri Vaisnavas worship Vishwakshena, and our Gaudiya vaisnavas, we worship the Guru. It says that the Guru, all the great demigods are represented by the Guru.  So Ganesh and Lord Nrsingadev, they are all in the Guru.

Guru should have the attitude of the servitor of the Lord

Don't Give Up, but Get Up!

Failures are stepping stones to success. But, in reality it becomes very
difficult for us to face repeated failures. We may face one or two
failures, but when there are setbacks in every walk of life, then we tend
to become morose and our morale goes down. We start losing hope and faith
in Lord as well.

What are we supposed to do when there are repeated setbacks in life?

While describing the rainy season in Vrindavan, Sukadev Goswami says in
Srimad Bhagavatam verse 10.20.15
