Thought Of The Day

So our senses are so strong. If you stop this sense, the other sense is prepared to kill you. Because they are called enemies, they are manah sasthanindriyani prakrti-sthani karsati [Bg. 15.7]. We are struggling for existence with the mind and the senses. Otherwise it is explained in the Bhagavad-gita, "These living entities, they are My part and parcel." That means "They are as good as I am." Why they are rotting in this material world? Because on account of the mind and the senses. So yoga pra

Put the glass down!

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see and asked the students,' How much do you think this glass weighs?'

'50gms!'.... '100gms!'.....'125gms'...the students answered.

What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?

'Nothing' the students said.

'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor asked.

'Your arm would begin to

Learn the magic of non-attachment

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Being attached to an outcome, holding on, takes an enormous amount of energy, not only during an effort but often after an effort is complete, after you’ve failed, or been let down, or were dealt a bad hand. Being nonattached, however, creates emotional freedom. It suggests trying hard, really caring, but at the same time being completely willing to let go of the outcome.

Attachment creates fear that gets in your way: wha

Build a large trust fund

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Every one of us has a trust fund that really matters: the trust of other people. The only question is, how large is it? Many people, not knowing how important a trust fund is to their own success, are practically bankrupt in this critical account.

The way to build a large trust fund is simple and straightforward. It involves being accountable for your actions, however large or small, doing what you say you are going to do

Thought Of The Day

So that type of religion which teaches the followers how to serve God, how to love God, that is perfect religion. It doesn't matter whether it is Christian religion or Hindu religion, no. If the followers are trained up how to love God, how to serve God, that is perfect. That is being taught here. In this Krsna consciousness movement, there is no such teaching to ask from God. No. To give everything to God. That is Krsna consciousness movement.

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Mathajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Gurudev.
In our life when reverses happen our immediate tendency is to blame the people around and if nobody is around then we blame the Lord squarely. We go to the extent of asking Him why He has put us in such a condition. This is a natural position of us. We are so much insi

Almost everyone feels that their own opinions are good ones; otherwise they wouldn’t be sharing them with you. One of the destructive things that many of us do, however, is compare someone else’s opinion to our own. And, when it doesn’t fall in line with our belief, we either dismiss it or find fault with it. We feel smug, the other person feels diminished, and we learn nothing.

Almost every opinion has some merit, especi

Your relationship to your problems

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Obstacles and problems are a part of life. True happiness comes not when we get rid of all of our problems, but when we change our relationship to them, when we see our problems as a potential source of advancement in Krishna Consciousness, opportunities to practice patience, and to learn to depend on Krishna more and more.

Certainly some problems need to be solved. Many others, however, are problems we create for oursel

Where do we go after we die?

A real good article on mysticism

There are different schools of thought on this topic. None has returned alive from the abode of dead to tell, "Where do we go after we die". However, so many have formed a hypothesis by speculating and conjecturing even in the absence of any hard evidence.

After going through so many speculations, I have concluded that we go nowhere after we die. We do not even go back to our point of origin. We move forward in spirit towards a state of greater purification.

Thought Of The Day

So we, marginal... Marginal means actually we belong to the spiritual nature. Because we are spirit soul, but we have come in contact with this material nature, some way or other. So therefore we are seeing our position incompatible. We cannot adjust here. Therefore we are getting one type of body and enjoying or suffering another type of body, another type of body, another type of body. This is going on. Therefore we are called marginal. If we like, we can transfer ourself to the spiritual worl

The power of words

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were
