RADHEY RADHEY

Radhey Radhey...

O'er the neue Jahr weekend maid, me and mom landed in Vrindavan. I'd been wanting to go there a while, and it was strange that in all these years in Delhi, I never had. The first sight, isn't pretty. There are animals all around like the cows and pigs you see in India, blocking traffic, jumping from one open drain to another, feeding on food from open garbage dumps- which are visible in every galli and kucha. And that's not pretty, you could call me snobbish, but seriously.

I LOVE KRISHNA

hough the issue of freedom has long since revolved around government’s restriction of it, the real yearning for liberty comes from within the spirit soul, who cannot even act out its natural propensity when residing within a large body and having a giant field to run on. Only through the proper outlets is the natural love found within the heart allowed to be set free, to run in every which direction without exhaustion. For a soul constantly in touch with the divine consciousness, a liberated ind

KRISHNA LOVE

Prabhupada: ...He was traveling in South India. He saw one brahmana reading Bhagavad-gita. And persons who knew him, that "That man was illiterate," it was not possible for him to read Bhagavad-gita... But still, he was trying to read it, and crying also. So while others were criticizing, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu came to him, "Brahmana, what you are reading?" So he could understand that "This person, He's not come here to criticize me. He's serious." So he talked seriously, "Sir, I am reading Bhagav

Bhakti Caru Swami learns Sanskrit

2514869523?profile=original

Once I [Bhakti Caru Swami] expressed a desire to learn Sanskrit to Srila Prabhupada. But Srila Prabhupada discouraged me asking, "Why you want to learn Sanskrit?" I gave him various reasons but Srila Prabhupada said, "No, there is no need to learn Sanskrit." But then he finally said, "You read my books and you will learn Sanskrit." But then he elaborated, "What is the point in learning Sanskrit? There are so many Sanskrit scholars but what are they doing? They ar

“Do you think you’ll have peace just because there’s no war?” Prabhupada asked at one lecture. “How can you ever have peace as long as there’s birth, old age, disease, and death?” From “Vrindaban Days” by Hayagriva Prabhu

Poverty means poverty of knowledge

Poverty means poverty of knowledge

Posted: 25 May 2012 08:56 PM PDT

Poverty means poverty of knowledge. Prime minister Canakya Pandit used to live in a thatched house or cottage but he was the dictator of India in the days of Emperor Candra Gupta. Mahatma Gandhi your political Guru voluntarily accepted the ways of the so called poor Indians and still he was the dictator of India’s destiny. But was he actually poverty sticken on account of his plain living with the primitive charkha? He was always

Thought Of The Day

The Kali begins with this animal killing. That is Kali-yuga. Meat-eating. Therefore, to avoid the influence of Kali we have to give up this habit. The four things are Kali's disciple, friends. We have already discussed this. So one friend is this meat-eating problem, the butchers, Kali's friends. And the liquor distiller, he's also Kali's friend. And the gamblers or the gambling house maintainer. And prostitute house maintainer. These are friends of Kali. Now you will find all over the world the

Thought Of The Day

So everyone in this material world, he does not know what is the aim of life. Unnecessarily he is making plan, this plan, that plan, this plan, that plan. And all plan is being frustrated by the laws of nature. Daivi hy esa gunamayi mama maya duratyaya [Bg. 7.14]. Every plan will fail. And those who are plan-making persons, they are all rascals. They do not know that what kind of plan should be made. The plan should be made that everyone should be God conscious. Then every plan will be successfu

The King And The Goddess

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

There was a king who was a great devotee of Mother Goddess.
Once, a big army attacked his kingdom. Out of fear, he prayed to the Mother Goddess.
Goddess Parashakti appeared before him and blessed him with a sword.
The king, instead of using that powerful sword, said 'O, Mother, I cannot fight'.
Parashakti said, 'I will bless you with physical energy, go and fight'. The king still refused.
This went on until the Goddess finall

A disciple after learning and being with his Guru for few years was allowed to carry on doing the sadhana or spiritual practises on his own.
The next day he came and asked his guru - "Oh, my revered master, what are you doing, closing your

Methods of Donation

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

There are different methods of donating alms.

One of the most sacred is known as tulapurusha. In this, a pair of scales is used. The person who is donating the alms ascends on one side of the scales and gold is placed on the other side until the scales are exactly balanced. This is the amount of gold that has to be donated if punya is to be acquired.

A second sort of donation is known as hiranyagarbha. In this , a pot full

Types of Punya – Kinds of Donation

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

The greatest punya is acquired from donating wealth to brahmanas. Or from providing them with employment.

Another performer of good deeds is one who gets a pond digged.

Punya is also acquired by building temples dedicated to Vishnu. The best temple is one that is made of gold. Progressively lower down the ranking are the ones that are made of copper, crystal, stone, bricks and wood.

He who maintains a pond, a temple or a vi

Thought Of The Day

So this civilization is so risky that people are not being given the real right that human being has the right to understand God and to make his relationship reestablished and go to home, back to Godhead, back to home. That is the real facility to the people. The program should be made like that, that the human life may not be missed. That is government. Therefore a maha-bhagavata, a great devotee, advanced devotee, should be on the head of the executive function. That is the idea of Vedic civil
