Thought Of The Day

Then what is the business of mahatma? He... Suppose he understands, surrenders to Krsna. Then what is his business? Simply knowing and surrendering will do? No. Mahatmanas tu mam partha daivim prakrtim asritah bhajanty ananya-manasah [Bg. 9.13]. Engaged in service. Not that "I have understood Krsna. Let me sit down and sleep now." He is not mahatma. But vasudevah sarvam iti sa ma... [Bg. 7.19]. Mahatmanas tu mam partha daivim prakrtim asritah [Bg. 9.13]. Daivi. Daivi means spiritual, spiritual e

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

By His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

The central point of allVaisnava philosophy is to accept the inconceivable potency of Lord Vishnu. What sometimes appears contradictory from a material viewpoint is understandable in connection with the Supreme Personality of Godhead because He can perform contradictory activities by dint of His inconceivable potencies. Modern scientists are puzzled. They cannot ev

Thought Of The Day

So in order to save the human society from this dangerous condition, without any knowledge of God, without any knowledge of religious principle, there must be some strong king, strong government, to save the people. Because this human life is a chance. Other inferior type of life, animals, birds, beasts, trees, it is not possible. They are also living entities, but human life is developed consciousness. So this is nature's gift, that "Now you try to understand what is God. Now you try to underst

A Sincere Soul

A Sincere Soul

I saw a girl sitting on the grass and studying and was going to approach her, but for some reason I talked to some other people instead. Yet I felt that Krishna really wanted me to offer her a book. The people I talked to took books, which ended up being the last books I had in my bag. However, later that day when I had more books I saw her again, and she waved at me to come and talk to her. I proceeded to say hello and offer her some books and she joyfully introduced herself and t

Use the power of reflection

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Often, when we’re looking for an answer, we “turn up the volume” of our thinking. This might be called active problem solving. We think, think, think—and then we think some more. We get personally involved in the process.

For the most part, when we are actively thinking, we’re thinking about that which we already know, that with which we are familiar. We try to solve a problem at the same level of understanding that in

Practice ignoring your negative thoughts

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

It has been estimated that the average human being has around 60,000 thoughts per day. That's a lot of thoughts. Some of these thoughts are going to be positive and productive. Unfortunately, however, many of them are also going to be negative—angry, fearful, pessimistic, worrisome. Indeed, the important question isn't whether or not you're going to have negative thoughts — you are—it's what you choose to do with the on
