There are twenty six basic qualifications for a holy man, and in the Bhagavad-gita we find that Sri Krsna Himself gives the following verdict :
api cet suduracaro
bhajate mam ananya-bhak
sadhur eva sa mantavyah
samyag vyavasito hi sah
"Even if one commits the most abominable actions, if he is engaged in devotional service, he is to be considered saintly because he is properly situated." (Bg. 9.30)

ye ye — anyone who; laila — accepted; śrī-acyutānandera — of Śrī Acyutānanda; mata — the path; sei — those; ācāryera gaṇa — descendants of Advaita Ācārya;mahā-bhāgavata — are all great devotees.
TRANSLATION
The descendants of Advaita Ācārya who accepted the path of Śrī Acyutānanda were all great devotees.
