Thought Of The Day

That is the conclusion. Here Srimad-Bhagavatam is recommending different demigods for different purposes because there are all classes of men. So to take immediate effect, they worship demigods. Ksipram, very soon. Generally, people do not go to worship Krsna and Visnu, because you cannot ask from Krsna anything which is not good for you. Suppose you pray to Krsna on the seaside, "Krsna, give me a good fish. I want to catch." Krsna will never fulfill your desire. That is Krsna's mercy. Because K

On the Way to Krsna!!

Yesterday, I went to ISKCON Temple, Rohini with my family for a glimpse of Lord Jagannath.  We reach temple around 1830 hrs and weather was fine.  Lord Jagannath looking mesmerising.  Later on first Tulsi Maharani Aarti starts and after that Lord Jaganath Aarti and Narsingh Bhagwan Aarti.  All those moments were so beautiful till the time I was in the temple.

All devotees must go to ISKCON Rohini Temple.  Charan-vandana of Lord Jagannath is really beautiful.

Thought Of The Day

So in the material world there cannot be prema. Prema means love. The prema is only possible in the spiritual world. Here, what is going on as love, that is not love, that is lust. A boy loves a girl, a girl loves a boy. That is not love, that is lust. As soon as there is some disturbance in lusty affair, they divorce. So therefore that is not love. So we should note it, that so-called love is bogus in this material world. Love cannot be possible. This very word love, prema, is specially reserve

A song by Srila Jayapataka Swami as an offering to Srila Prabhupada ( with English and Spanish translations)

(1)
(yadi) prabhupada na haita tabe ki haita
(e) jivana bahita kise?
nitai-gaurera apara karuna ke dita sakala dese

If Srila Prabhupada had not come, what would have happened? How could we have passed our lives? Who else would have distributed the unlimited mercy of Lord Nityananda and Lord Gauranga all over the world?

Criticism is an extremely valuable element to success.  It is important to value the opinions of others and change your actions based on good feedback.  It is this feedback that helps us to achieve success. The first rule of accepting criticism is to understand the motivation behind the criticism. Understanding this motivation helps you decide how valid the criticism is, and whether to accept it or not.  Here are some o

Rowing Along the Wind

A rich landlord had a flattering servant, a "yes man" who  was always most deferential to his master only because he desired reward.

The master asked the servant one day, "What is your opinion of potatos?"

The servant was hesitant in his reply.  "Oh, my dear sir, I suppose I've never thought about potatos much, really.  But it  would be most edifying for me to hear your opinion of potatos."

The landlord said, "

The Glories of Srila Jiva Goswami

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Jiva Goswami has composed six sandarbhas, theses — bhagavata-sandarbhakrsna-sandarbhatattva-sandarbhapriti-sandarbha, etc. I don't think they are published in English. These sandarbhas are so philosophically discussed that throughout the whole world there is not a single philosopher who can defy Jiva Goswami's six sandarbhas. (Lecture in London, 6 August 1971.)

Decoration of the dead body

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

In India, the lower class men, during their life, will dress very wretchedly and not spend money. But when some of their relatives die, they will purchase some velvet and cover the body and very nicely decorate, and with band party they'll take, lead the dead body. They make lips of the dead body very smiling. The body is taken in procession. So it may be very much pleasing to the relatives that the dead body's decorate

Mahaprabhu has taught in Siksastaka (Cc. adi 17.31):

trnad api sunicena taror api sahinuuna

amanina manadena kirtaniyah sada harih

This is the most important teaching in Siksastaka.

uttama hana apanake mane trnadhama — This is the nature of a real vaisnava. He is the topmostparamahamsa, but he thinks, "I am the lowest of the low, much humbler than a blade of grass in the street. All those who are walking on the street may s

Tolerance and Respect

Hare Krsna

Sri Srimad Gour Govinda Swami Maharaja

Bhaktivinode Thakur has sung in Kalyanakalpataru (3.2.8):

`ami ta' vaisnava', e buddhi ha-ile,

amani na ha'ba ami

pratisthasa asi', hrdaya dusibe,

ha-iba niraya-gami

If I say, "I am vaisnava," then I cannot become amani and manada; I'll be unable to offer respect to others. Rather, I will demand respect, "Hey, don't you know I am vaisnava? You should pay respect to me, you rascal! Don't

On the Way to Krsna!!

When this material body becomes old and worn out, or when it is rendered useless by some accident, we put it aside as we might put aside a soiled or ruined suit and take up another material body.

tatha sarirani vihaya jirnany
