In the pastime of Ambarish Maharaj and Durvasa muni, when Durvasa muni finally approaches Supreme Lord and asks for forgiveness for offending Maharaj Ambarish, an unalloyed devotee of the Lord, and protection from the life threatening Sudarshan chakra, Lord Krishna very nicely glorifies the greatness of His devotees through the following verses in Srimad Bhagavatam. कन्हैया ने कहा. तेरे बाप की सौगंध, बस गोपी और ज्यादा खीझ जाती है और लाला को धमकाती है ।
परन्तु तू मेरे घर आया ही क्यों ?
कन्हैया ने कहा - अरी सखी !
तू रोज कथा में जाती है, फिरभी तू मेरा तेरा छोडती नहीं - इस घर का मै धनी हूँ ।
यह घर मेरा है ।
गोपी को आनंद हुआ
अब फिर कभी भी तेरे घर में नहीं आऊंगा ।
गोपी ने कहा - मेरे धनी की सौगंध क्यों खाता है ?

एक समय कि बात है कि श्रीभागुरी ऋषि गोविन्द कुण्ड के तट पर भगवत् प्रीति के लिए यज्ञ कर रहे थे. दूर–दूर से गोप-गोपियाँ यज्ञ के लिए द्रव्य ला रही थीं. राधिका एवं उनकी सखियाँ भी दानघाटी के उस पार से दधि, दुग्ध, मक्खन तथा दूध से बने हुए विविध प्रकार के रबडी आदि द्रव्य ला रही थीं. इसी स्थान पर सुबल, मधुमंगल आदि सखाओं के साथ श्रीकृष्ण अपने लाठियों को अड़ाकर बलपूर्वक दान (टोलटैक्स) माँग रहे थे. गोपियों ...के साथ उन लोगों की बहुत नोक–झोंक हुई. कृष्ण ने त्रिभंग ललित रूप में खड़े होकर कहा- क्या ले जा रही ह
