by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

2515000920?profile=originalMore than inviting sinful reactions, offenses can uproot and destroy the tender devotional creeper we are struggling to cultivate.

End of the world Predictions

End of the world Predictions
by Syamananda Dasa

srila-prabhupada.jpg

According to some calculations the world was supposed to end on the 20 December 2012 (20-12- 2012)! It was a Mayan (old South America) theory. Perhaps the numbers arranged in this fashion had something to do with this prediction. Anyway, if you are still reading this in the New Year 2013 then it is obvious that the world did not end.

And you are ready to face the daily grind in your specific part of the cosmos.

Talking about predictions, t

Recently, I set up a book table at a Festival of Colors in San Bernadino, California. An older, wealthy looking American man and his younger, Latino wife approached the book table. The wife became attracted to the books but the huband was disinterested. So he kept coming up with excuses, like, "Honey, are you sure you will read it? Are you sure you want to carry this book around all day? I don't have any cash right now to make a donation."

So they left without buying a book. As I was packing up

trees of Vrindavan

I had the good fortune to visit Sri Vrindavan Dhama the last Saturday. It was an impromptu visit, more to attend enlightening classes of Srimati Mataji than my attraction for Dhama.

As I paid obeisances to deities at home, I prayed to Srila Prabhupada in particular to please bless me with constant association of devotees on this trip. Let me share some beautiful realisations I had.

I shared in my previous blogs that I am hearing Brahma Samhita seminar by HH T

Preach Whenever You Can

2515001002?profile=original

On the appearance day of Lord Nityananda, I told a few devotees, "Let's go chant locally for an hour." We had a plan to meet at 5 p.m.

At 5 p.m. I didn't see anybody outside the temple ready to chant, so I went by myself around the corner. While chanting and playing karatalas, I met a guy I'd met a few months ago.

At that time I'd distributed a "Higher Taste" to him for a donation. This time I invited him to the Sunday Feast and also told him that this evening there was a feast.

That evening th

Quotes-by-Srila-Prabhupada-on-Establishing-Relationship-With-Lord-Krishna

Q: What is pulakāśru ?

Ans: Srila Prabhupada writes in his purport to sB 3.15.25 that when one is free from all ten of these offenses in chanting the holy name of God, he develops the ecstatic bodily features called pulakāśru. Pulaka means “symptoms of happiness,” and aśru means “tears in the eyes.” The symptoms of happiness and tears in the eyes must appear in a person who has chanted the holy name offenselessly.

Here in this verse it is stated that those wh
