A Disatisfied Wife Makes A Good Companion

Recently, I set up a book table at a Festival of Colors in San Bernadino, California. An older, wealthy looking American man and his younger, Latino wife approached the book table. The wife became attracted to the books but the huband was disinterested. So he kept coming up with excuses, like, "Honey, are you sure you will read it? Are you sure you want to carry this book around all day? I don't have any cash right now to make a donation."

So they left without buying a book. As I was packing up to leave, the same man came back covered with colors. I almost didn't recognize him. He gave me $20 and requested that I please give him a Spanish and an English Gita. I happily asked him what made him change his mind.

He said, "Oh man, ever since I said no to these books, my wife wouldn't smile the whole day, so I want to make up for it by not only getting her a Spanish book but also an English book for myself."

I said, "You are very fortunate to have a wife who is interested in divine knowledge."

He agreed and gave me a firm hand shake and a huge smile.
