Over a decade ago, Kolkata, the birthplace of Śrīla Prabhupāda, witnessed the founding of the Bhaktivedanta Research Center (BRC) by H.G. Hari Śauri Prabhu and H.G. Praṇava Prabhu. Inaugurated in 2009 by H.H. Jayapatākā Mahārāja and H.H. Bhakti Cāru Mahārāja, the BRC has since blossomed into a thriving research center and guest house, serving as a significant destination for the global academic and Vaiṣṇava community.

ISKCON Newtown located in Kolkata, West Bengal India hosted a 4 Day Grand Deity Installation Ceremony from May 19th-22nd. The Deities installed were given the name, Sri Sri Gaur Nitai by Jayapataka Swami. There was a huge assembly of devotees which Maharaj addressed by saying, “So you all are very fortunate Nitai Gauranga are being installed here. They are especially merciful.” He encouraged the spirit of service by exclaiming, “Service is the secret to success.”

The Bhaktivedanta Research Centre in Kolkata was happy to welcome HG Ananga Mohan Prabhu from the ISKCON Kolkata Temple at the library. He was fascinated to see the rare collection of the library especially the handwritten songbook of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura. He was notified about the recent projects in which he showed great interest. Overall he was very satisfied to see the progress of the BRC.
