AN OFFERING OF THE HEART by Radhanath Swami

As the effulgent sun of Sri Aindra Prabhu’s divine personality has risen in the spiritual world of Goloka Vrindaban, the sun of his physical presence has set in Gokula, the Vrindaban of this world. And we cry in separation.

The glorious life of Aindra Prabhu personifies determination and devotion, all aimed exclusively for the pleasure of Sri Sri Radha Shyamasundara. His heart floods like the Yamuna while being inundated by the monsoon of Srila Prabhupad

There is a saying, Srila Prabhupada even used it. There is a saying that a preacher is least appreciated in his own hometown. And I guess that’s just normal. So we shouldn’t get too upset if that thing happens to us.

Anyhow, I see most the devotees seem to be rather new devotees, so I don’t know, you know, how much you gonna be able to put this

I remember in New York - in the Brooklynn temple (the one that was bought after the Manhattan building was sold). Aindra prabhu was so into kirtan. I remember that many of the ladies would make fun of him because they didn't appreciate his singing. He put together a beautiful altar which he attached to the back of a flatbed truck. It became known as the Harinama truck. He used to work on that project a lot, sometimes very late into the evening.

Once he said to me "Do you know what Romapada Mahara

Dear Maharajas and Prabhus,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

It is with deeply sad hearts that we have come to know about the sudden passing of His Grace Aindra Prabhu.

There is possibly no devotee in the entire world of ISKCON who has not heard one of Aindra Prabhu’s kirtans, either live or from a recording, and has been left wondering whether this celestial singing was coming from this earth or from ano

Breaking down false ego

In the Caitanya-caritamrta in the chapter called the bheda kirtans we see a description of how Lord Caitanya divided the devotees into various kirtan groups. There were four kirtan groups each having twomrdanga players, and eight kartal players, That's sixteen kartala players and six lead singers, simultaneously singing the lead with six lead responders simultaneously responding.

I have incorporated that standard to a large extent in my own endeavors t

In Memory of Sripad Aindra Prabhu

(The following is an interview with Sripad Aindra dasa done last year for the forthcoming book Kirtan Meditations The Mood and Technique of Bhakti Kirtan compiled by Dhanurdhara Swami and Akincana Krishna dasa. Due to the unexpected loss of this great soul I decided to release his interview quite before the editing has been finished. I hope it gives some pleasure and solace to the congregation of the devotees feeling the loss of this great soul.)

Remembering Aindra Prabhu

In the summer of 2006, this blog was created when several of us decided to go to Vrindavan to participate in VIHE courses and live in the dham for several months. I can't speak for the others, but for me that was only really a cover reason for going as my main motivation was to participate in HG Aindra Prabhu's kirtans. I had been fascinated with his kirtan for several years before that, eagerly awaiting any new live recordings or videos that would come out of Vrindavan. Back in those days there

In Hari-bhakti-vilasa, verse 2.147, Srila Sanatan Goswami quotes
Sammohana-tantra:

gopayed devatam istam gopayed gurum atmanah
gopayec ca nijam mantram gopayen nija-malikam

One should hide one's ista-deva, one should hide one's guru, one should hide
one's mantra, and one should hide one's japa-mala.

Wise persons keep their valuables in a confidential place. Similarly, an
intelligent sadhaka does not advertise his or her guru, nor do they
broadcast themselves as disciples of their guru. Considering thems

How does

a devotee take suffering ?

When there is suffering given by Krishna, a devotee does not take seriously suffering. A devotee thinks, “It is thefavour of Krishna that He has put me into suffering.” They never see suffering as suffering. It is favour of Krishna. That is devotee’s vision. It is exactly like a son who knows his father well. If the father slaps, the son never protests. He knows that “It is good for me.” Similarly, a devotee is never disturbed when there is suffering given by Kr

Why should we change the quality of engagement of our mind ?

The mind is not to be killed. Mind or desire cannot be stopped, but to develop a desire to function for spiritual realization, the quality of engagement by the mind has to be changed. The mind is the pivot of the active sense organs, and as such if the quality of thinking, feeling and willing is changed, naturally the quality of actions by the instrumental senses will also change.

Srimad Bhagavatham, 2.1.17.

Dearest Aindra prabhu,

Please accept our most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

We, the members of the Festival of India in Poland, would like to express our extreme sorrow and lamentation over your untimely departure from this world. We know that the Lord has a plan for all His devotees, but nonetheless we are finding it most difficult to accept that you are no longer here.

For many of us, especially the ISKCON youth, you were a shining example of a true kirtaneer: one who relish

My assistant called me from India, when I was on the way to the airport in Burma, and asked whether I heard about Aindra Prabhu. With the kind of tone in which he enquired, I thought of the worst, and it was true. Aindra had left us behind. I was shaken, shattered and shocked. I thought of flying to Vrndavan, but the arrangements could not be made in time. Unfortu

Hearing the news of Aindra Prabhu’s sudden departure was a great shock, and I could feel what a great loss it was for us all. He was a dear friend and well-wisher of all, and through his kirtana he gave shelter to devotees throughout the world. Ultimately, he gave protection and life to the whole planet.

I think of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, who preached vigorously in Bengal and fought against many deviant sects. Later, he became discouraged because the devi
