pic8.jpgWhen He understood that the water of the Yamuna was being polluted by the black serpent Kaliya, Lord Krsna took action against him and made him leave the Yamuna and go elsewhere, and thus the water became purified.

The Passing on of Lord Krishna

2514946973?profile=original The Passing on of Lord Krishna Dwarka was the hometown of Lord Krishna and his brother Balram as well as the entire Yadu race. One day, three great sages paid a visit to this city as Krishna's guests. And one day, during their stay, the youngsters of the Royal family got into a state of intoxication and dressed up Krishna's son Shamva as a woman who needed to be blessed with a son. They took him to the three sages and asked them to predict the birth and future of the son of the disguised Shamva

When to pray ?

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

What is prayer and when do we pray? As per our acaryas and scriptures prayer is glorification of the Supreme Lord, a way of communion with the Lord, accepting His Supremacy and our insignificant position. It is also a way of expressing our gratitude to God. If we realise the truth of the above statement, then actually we should be praying all the time ferverently. But most of the time our prayers are result oriented. Wh

It is natural for those who have developed intense love for Kåñëa not to care for personal inconvenience and impediments. Such devotees are simply determined to execute the order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead or His representative, the spiritual master. In all circumstances, even amidst the greatest dangers, they undeviatingly carry on with the greatest determination. This definitely proves the intense love of

Abiding the Will of the Lord

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

In Ramayana we find that Ravana inorder to establish his supremacy over the universe goes and attacks the Yamadutas in Yamaloka. When he harassed the Yamadutas, Yamaraj became very angry and there is a terrible fight between Yamaraj and Ravana. During the war, there was an instance when Ravana fell unconscious. Yamaraja, observing the rules of fair combat, did not further attack his overpowered enemy. He resumed the fig

As Radhika tasted the remnants of Krsna, the effect was that Her rati (attachment) to meet with and love Krsna increased unlimitedly. She became maddened with desire to see Krsna and to taste His lips. "Harsa-sokadi-bhara vinasaya." Radhika told Her sakhis, "Taking this maha-prasada from Krsna makes My heart feel as if I am tasting Him, seeing Him, talking with Him, and touching Him. Tasting the prasada increases My eagerness to meet with Him. Taking His remnants certainly vanquishes all of one'

Thought Of The Day

A person may have a bona fide spiritual master and may be attached to a spiritual organization, but still, if he is not intelligent enough to make progress, then Krsna from within gives him instructions so that he may ultimately come to Him without difficulty. The qualification is that a person always engage himself in Krsna consciousness and with love and devotion render all kinds of services. He should perform some sort of work for Krsna, and that work should be with love. If a devotee is inte

Thought Of The Day

Prabhupada: Yes. Krsna consciousness is the original status of the living entity. Just like a son is conscious always that "I am the son of such and such person." This consciousness is natural. So living entities, when they come to Krsna consciousness... Because we are all parts and parcels of Krsna. It cannot be broken. A person may go mad. But when he's cured, he immediately understands that "I belong to such and such family, such and such gentleman's son." That is natural. Similarly in the co

Why Is Independence Misused .... ?

All glories to Srila Prabhupad,......  Hare Krishna,.......

The very definition of independence is that, it is something which can be properly used & misused. Otherwise the term becomes meaningless. This possession of independence is 100% with The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Shrikrishna. That is found in the very 1st verse of Srimad Bhagbatam, i.e....  "Janmadasya jatah Itarascharthesu Abhingya Swarat

Our distance from Krishna

Hare Krishna.

8th January, Gurgaon.

As I progress from a fresher to a neophyte I realise that as I move forward the distance between me and Krishna keeps on decreasing as well as increasing.

In one way we start experiencing the presence of Krishna and Guru near us, we just need to `tune' ourselves by our daily sadhna bhakti and a sincere desire to get some instructions and voila ! they usually come fast. We then take another baby step towards a firm faith in Krishna, Guru and Shastra. What is invar
