Prabhupada's appreciation
On his return from the program, Prabhupada entered the temple, bowed down before Radha-Gopinatha, then stood, palms together respectfully in traditional Indian greeting. The lone brahmacari pujari, absorbed in singing and offering the late evening arati was blissfully unaware that Prabhupada was standing right behind him.
Afterwards, Prabhupada asked, "Who was that?"
"That was Kurma dasa, Srila Prabhupada."
Prabhupada smiled brightly and said, "Oh -- Kurma deva".

Krsna’s Village of Peace at this year’s Woodstock festival in Poland exceeded the expectations of everyone. With a steady stream of people passing through our site the lines for prasadam got longer and longer, large crowds spilled out of the Mantra Yoga Tent and all other activities were fully packed. From this one can appreciate that Lord Krsna is truly ‘all-attractive.’
ISKCON’s GBC (Governing Body Commission) opposes the sale of the ISKCON Radha-Govinda Mandir because the GBC considers selling or moving the temple a risky proposition that’s contrary to the instructions of Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON’s Founder-Acarya.
Acccording to a false story being spread by Ramabhadra Dasa, the GBC would favor the sale if it were to get a cut of the proceeds. Since the Bharati Board won’t agree, so the story goes, the GBC opposes the sale.
None of that story is true.
In April
In spite of being bound by iron shackles and confined in a prison cell and in spite of having witnessed the killing of their six little children by Kamsa, Vasudeva and Devaki were indifferent to all the pains because they always meditated on Krishna and were eagerly waiting for his arrival.
And when finally beautiful Krishna appeared in their lives their hearts were inundated with infinite bliss. Not just Krishna’s presence but in fact his mere remembrance mitigates all the sufferings.

Mumbai, Aug 12 (IANS) For the first time, the ISKCON Temple in Chowpatty here will celebrate Janmashtami — Lord Krishna’s birthday — with a tricolor theme as it coincides with the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, an official here said on Saturday.
Besides, more than 750 other International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temples worldwide are fully geared up for their own unique celebrations, said its spiritual leader Radhanath Swami Maharaj.

July 9th was Guru Purnima day, the biggest parikrama day of the year. It was a hot day and very humid. But the pilgrims poured in, undeterred, filling the parikrama path from early morning to late at night, some of them carrying children or heavy bags throughout the 13 mile (21 kilometer) trek. The local newspaper estimated that 80 lakhs of people did parikrama! That’s eight million people! There were even helicopters offering aerial circumambulation of Govardhana and Radha Kunda for 2500 rupe
