ISKCON devotees in Pune, Western India are bringing Krishna consciousness to blind children, with inspiring effects on the children’s mood, health and spirits.

Champaka lata Dasi, motivated by her spiritual master Bhakti Raghava Swami, first visited the Poona School and Home for the Blind in November 2016 and, she says, felt an instant connection with the children.

School authorities explained that the children were often depressed and unhappy, and invited Champaka la

Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita that by regular practise of offering everything in service to him, we will become strong. So, it’s very nice that we have communities of devotees and when you visit and see all the children, you think, “How nice it is to grow up like this, with the deities and with Srila Prabhupada…” It’s such a good start. I always thought that this is

Tractor-machine, means kill the Bulls

By Dusyanta dasa

February 12, 1976, Mayapur

Morning Walk

“Machine means unemployment for many. Tractor, they’re using, they’re unemployment for bulls and ploughmen and then they, bulls have to be killed. This is going on. Unemployment, then kill them.”

One of the main problems with today’s modernity is the usage of machinery. And why so many Bulls are slaughtered is because there is no work for them to do. If we can understand the nature of today’s farming activities it is apparent that we al

Running After Lakshmi By Gautam Saha

2515142915?profile=original

Most of the times, we are running after money ( dhan ). Money is what makes the world go round, or so it appears. Many a times, this appears to be true. Money enables us to buy goods and services, food, clothing and other basic necessities of life, possessions, home, car, luxuries, etc; Since Laxmi is the goddess of wealth, we worship her to bless us with her favour and benediction. As we are mostly obsessed with money and its acquisition, we do not realize that Laxmi also benedicts us with bea

Why Krsna left? By Bhurijan Das

2515279739?profile=original

Krsna says that the gopikas (Srimati Radhika being the topmost) are so dear to Him. And then He leaves them and goes to Mathura. How is it possible? Is He so casual, just “Ram Ram. There are beautiful women in Mathura also”? No, His heart is so grateful and kind. In the 11th Canto His heart will again come out in the open, even though He does not plan this.

Here He sends Uddhava to bring consolation to the gopis. He describes, this is the perfection of the perfection (SB 10.46.4):

How to immunize our minds against attacks by agents harmful to our spiritual life.

Mental tiredness can have several causes, but a common, major, and avoidable cause is the indiscriminate over-e

I take refuge at the lotus feet of Lokanatha Prabhu, who is completely indifferent to the pains and pleasures of this material world. His mercy was fully realized only by the great scholar Narottama dasa. All glories to Narottama dasa Thakura, the beloved disciple of Lokanatha Goswami. How the illustrious Narottama took his birth in the house of Krishnananda Datta, the elder brother of Sri Purusottama, I dare not discuss elaborately here. However, for your pleasure, I shall give a brief descri

Devotees often find themselves immersed in conflict with other devotees and thus see their development come to a halt. This has certainly happened to me. By the mercy of Hari-Guru-Vaisnava, this is changing and I am slowly progressing in my spiritual life. I simply try to focus on chanting the holy name and on not committing offenses against any living entities, especially against devotees. I will share with you some excerpts from three books that have profoundly changed my life. I take the opp

Here is our offering to Srila Prabhupada for the 50th anniversary of ISKCON in the UK

Our National ISKCON UK theme is: “Be A Pioneer-Do Something Extraordinary Together”

Birmingham is the second largest city in the UK with over 2 million jivas residing in human bodies. It is the most multicultural city in the western world, as only half of those human jivas are in white bodies. So it is a wonderful city for delivering the message of Lord Caitanya and now with our new temple in the city centre,
