Madhura Kavi literally means most sweetest poet. Our most beloved sweetest of sweet divine poet, our very own Madhura Kavi azhwar is a mahatma par excellence and has shown the entire universe by setting a personal example, the truest of true meaning of an in -depth love a disciple can have for his guru. HE IS THE BEST DISCIPLE THE WHOLE UNIVERSE HAS SEEN FOR HIS HIGHEST LOVE FOR THE GREATEST OF GREAT, KING OF ALL AZHWARS, ONE AND ONLY OUR MOST BELOVED NAMAZHWAR IS WORTH EMULATING COUNTLESS TIMES.
OUR MADHURA KAVI AZHWAR HAS SET AN UNPRECEDENTED EXAMPLE PROVING, A GURU IS ONE WHO IS HIGHLY ENLIGHTENED, COMPASSIONATE AND WISDOM ORIENTED AND CAN GUIDE US FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT. OUR NAMAZHWAR WAS MUCH YOUNGER IN AGE THAN MADHURA KAVI AZHWAR AND ALSO THEIR VARNAS WERE DIFFERENT BUT MADHURA KAVI AZHWAR ESTABLISHED TO THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE THAT CASTE, CREED, AGE, GENDER ETC NEVER MATTERS WHILE CHOSING AND SERVING AN ERUDITE GURU, ALL THAT IS VITAL IS WHETHER OUR GURU CAN LEAD US TO OUR DEAREST LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA AND LAKSHMI AMMA.
COUNTLESS BILLION PROSTRATION, AT THE VERY OUTSET , AT THE DIVINE MOST LOTUS FEET OF THE MOST ILLUSTRIOUS DISCIPLE MADHURA KAVI AZHWAR AND THE UNPARALLELED GURU NAMAZHWAR OF ALL THE YUGAS PUT TOGETHER WHO IS THE MOST FAVOURITE OF OUR LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA AND LAKSHMI AMMA. THERE CANNOT BE ANOTHER NAMAZHWAR EVER, HIS TOWERING STATURE IN PRAPATI (UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER) AND HIS MOST DIVINE ATTRIBUTES CAN BE A PERPETUAL TOPIC OF TRANSCENDENTAL DISCUSSION WITH COUNTLESS PAGES AND YET WOULD FALL SHORT OF ANOTHER COUNTLESS PAGES.
NO MORTAL CAN EVER ADEQUATELY SING GLORIES OF NAMAZHWAR FOR HE IS NONE OTHER THAN OUR LORD SRI KRISHNA HIMSELF. IN SRIVAISHNAVISM, NAMAZHWAR IS THE DIVINE LOTUS FEET OF OUR LORD SRI KRISHNA WHICH WE ARE ETERNALLY LONGING TO REACH AND HENCE IS VERY LOVINGLY CALLED SATAGOPAN.
Our Madhura Kavi azhwar did not directly sing glories of our Lord Sri Krishna . Apart from one or two verses, all his divine writings were only on our most venerable Namazhwar , again this also can be construed that he has indirectly sung on our dearest Sri Govinda only because Namazhwar is none other than the incarnation of Sriman Narayana in our kali yuga.
Following are his subject of divine writings:
- The highest point of distinction is his divine writings centre only around NAMAZHWAR, our other adoring azhwars have directly sung the glories of only our divine consort. Secondly, Madhura Kavi azhwar wanted to convey a divine message to the whole universe that the one who lovingly serves his revered guru will automatically reach the divine lotus feet of our creator Lord Sriman Narayana which is the core essence of Vishistha advaita philosphy of our Sri Vaishnavism.
GURU SHISHYA PARAMPARA is the most important fundamental concept and as seen so many times, that none of the jivatma can reach PARAMATMA without a guru who acts as an intermediate between a devout srivaishnava and our most beloved Lakshmi amma and our loving cosmic mother , in turn directly speaks to our creator with regards to each of our redemption, no other route at all to reach our creator Lord Sri Krishna.
The orthodox , in those days too , took a very strong objection to our Madhura Kavi azhwar writing only about our dearest Namazhwar , a mortal according to their very limited vision and hence not only created lots of difficulties for our Madhura Kavi but also troubled and pained our most beloved Namazhwar too. These orthodox kept on humiliating both our dearest of dear azhwars. This is a live testimony , as in several cases known to us, that the best of best are always a victim of oppression even in those days.
This part of the divine writings on our adoring azhwars upset and hurt me the most and I kept reminding myself of the countless hassles and agonies our most beloved all compassionate Gyaneshwar mauli, (an incarnation of our Vithu mauli), had to undergo but his PASAYADAAN (LOVING PLEA TO OUR BELOVED VITHU MAULI CAN BRING TEARS TO THE MOST INANIMATE HUGE BLOCK OF ROCK TOO FOR HE PRAYS FERVENTLY TO OUR DEAREST VITHU MAULI TO BLESS EACH OF THE JIVATMAS AND GRANT THEM ALL WHAT THEY DESIRE, THIS , AGAIN GOES TO PROVE, AS HUMBLY CONVEYED EARLIER, THAT OUR GREATEST OF GREAT SRI VAISHNAVA ACHARYANS HAVE HAD THE SAME LOVING ATTRIBUTES IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR PLACE OF BIRTH ).
- Our dearest Madhura kavi azhwar has proudly proclaimed to the entire universe that he knows none, nor needs to know anyone apart from his master and guru, the highly exalted, our very own Namazhwar. His love of unparalleled heights for his guru Namazhwar is the basis of his entire divine writings. At one point, we come to a conclusion that both our most revered azhwars are merged together and it is impossible to imagine our dearest Madhura kavi without our beloved Namazhwar and vice versa.
The crowing glory of their divine love is our most beloved Namazhwar took every efforts to simplify all the four vedas , translating them in TAMIL language to ensure that our most divine vedas reach the most common man in the language he understands.
CAN COUNTLESS PROSTRATION ALSO BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE MERIT OF SUCH A DIVINE MOST WRITING( BILLION THESIS ON THE WORKS OF OUR NAMAZHWAR , LION AMONG LIONS WILL NEVER EVER COMPENSATE THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF OUR MOST BELOVED AZHWARS CELESTIAL WORKS ).
WHEN I ALWAYS THINK OF OUR MOST REVERED NAMAZHWAR, WHEN IN MY VACANT MOOD, AT MY LOWEST OF LOW LEVEL, MARVEL AT THE HEIGHT OF HIS LOVE FOR OUR DEAREST CREATOR LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA. THIS DIVINE TRINITY OF OUR DEAREST OF DEAR MADHURA KAVI AZHWAR ====NAMAZHWAR====DIVINE SRIMAN NARAYANA OUR LORD OF THE ENTIRE WORLDS IS TRANSCENDENTAL IN THE SUPERLATIVE. THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER AND THEIR ONENESS, IN THE ENTIRE COSMOS ONE CAN NEVER WITNESS EVER AGAIN. THIS IS SATYAM , SATYAM PUNAR SATYAM.
One small confession, although my love for all our adoring azhwars is at par / same level and all our azhwars are like my breath which keeps me alive but my love for Namazhwar is beyond any human description, my adoration of our dearest Namazhwar can never be adequately expressed by me ever, his divine serene countenance can calm , soothe and bring solace to EVERYONE.
At my level, which is at the foothills, rock bottom level, can surely wholly relate to our Madhura Kavi ahzwar, for I too feel the very same sentiment for our dearest of dear Namzhwar. If the most divine blessings of my most beloved Namazhwar leaves me for even a second, even in my most imaginative fearful state, my mortal coil will fall that moment itself. One more admission our beloved Namazhwar's star is VISHAAKAM and this servant of servant of servant of SriNamazhwar, myself, too shares the same star .This , to my mind, is my dearest of dear Sriman Narayanas blessing and the most precious gift to me among the countless gifts he has bestowed on me unasked undeserved.
- Madhura Kavi azhwar mentions that he got the divine vision of our dearest lord Sri Govinda and our most beloved Mahalakshmi amma only due to our godly Namazhwar. His immense mercy, enabled our Madhura kavi azhwar to self experience our divine consort. I ( please forgive me immensely to have used the word I constantly , it is only to maintain the accuracy of grammar) too am hoping against all hopes that one day , because of our most greatest, most loving Namazhwar an epitome/personification of the brightest of bright sapphire, invaluable pristine pearls, glistening rubies, sparkling emeralds and thousand other precious stones all ARTISTICALLY WEAVED together IN A MOST ENCHANTING GARLAND OF FRAGRANT FLOWERS, will get a glimpse of our dearest creator Sriman Narayana and our most beloved Lakshmi amma in the capacity of a servant of servant of servant of servant of our divine consort.
4. Our dearest Madhura kavi azhwar asserts he is not at all bothered about the orthodox who condemned him for singing praises of our beloved namazhwar for he is very sure that it is only due to the divine blessings of his guru , his father, his mother , his sarvasvam Namazhwar he is surviving, breathing and has a purpose to live otherwise he is ever willing to shed his mortal coil.
5. One most distinct factor in the most divine writings of our dearest Madhura kavi azhwar/Namazhwar is the loving service to the bhagavadars(devotees of our lord Sriman Narayana). Our shastras very clearly say that one of the most important way to please our lord is to serve his loving devotees for they are A PART OF HIMSELF.
OUR LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA MANIFESTS IN EACH OF THE JIVATMAS AS ANTARYAAMI (IN DWELLER)AND THOSE WHO LOVINGLY SERVE HIS BELOVED DEVOTEES , GIVE HIM THE HIGHEST JOY AND HENCE OUR DEAREST OF DEAR MADHURA KAVI AZHWAR IS MERGED WITH NAMAZHWAR WHO IS NONE OTHER THAN A MANIFESTATION OF OUR LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA HIMSELF. IF OUR LORDSRI GOVINDA HAS ACCORDED HIM A STATUS OF HIS MOST DIVINE LOTUS FEET THEN IS THERE AN IOTA OF DOUBT IN OUR MINDS THE LOVE OUR LORD SRI KRISHNA HAS FOR OUR MOST BELOVED NAMAZHWAR. MANAVA SEVA IS SRIMADHAVA SEVA ACCORDING TO OUR DEAREST MADHURA KAVI AZHWAR FULLY ENDORSED BY OUR NAMAZHWAR AND OUR LORD SRI GOVINDA TOO.
Our dearest Madhura kavi azhwar confesses that before meeting our Namazhwar he used to fall prey to his senses but the most divine grace and blessings of our dearest of dear Namazhwar lifted him from the material contamination and he promises with all sincereity for the rest of his life and the seven lives to come, he will steadily hold on to the lotus feet of our dearest of dear , king of kings our very own Namazhwar and with one pointed focus and devotion will not leave our Namazhwar ever,he will PERMANENTLY sing his glories and dance to the joys of the divine service of our one and only one Namazhwar who is none other than our creator Sriman Narayana himself.
Let each one of us bow with the highest reverence at the holiest of holy feet of our dearest Madhura Kavi azhwar and plead him to keep us bound to our most reverential Namazhwar and if this is done then our route towards our dearest creator Sriman Narayana is the shortest, we will cover our one small step in a billionth of a second because our most loving Namazhwar accompanied by our dearest Madhurakavi azhwar can carry us at a lightening speed for our dearest Lord Sriman Narayana and Lakshmi amma are embedded in them forever and hence the distant between our PARMAATMAN and us JIVATMA is INFINITY zero for our most loving azhwar is carrying us.
