Recently visited Akrura ghat at vrindavan dham. Pujari came up to me to tell me his explanation of pastime - akrura was a non devotee and therefore working with kamsa.
when he came to vrindavan , this place akrura ghat marks end of mathura and begining of vrindavan. Then he said this side (pointing to vrindavan) is for spiritualists and other side (pointing to mathura) is for materialistas. so here by touch of vrindavan akrura became pure devotee. In the same way saint chaitanya mahaprabhu came here and he came herefirst. place where he sat first there he was not experiencing ecstacy not able to understand he prayed for help. And then hanumanji came and took him inside the boundary of vrindavan..and then he felt ecstatic........oh! when i heard i wished i could have carried with me srila prabhupada's krishna book and given him that as gift. Coming back to my room i received this email (below)..how fortunate we are that we are saved from all this mixings and misinterpretation..
Read on the email.
It is very important to hear only from pure devotees. Srimad Bhagavatam is pure milk. It is nectar. But whoever speaks, whatever they speak, their consciousness is also mixed into it. So therefore when we hear from such persons - that influence of their consciousness are pierced into our heart. Similarly if someone is a mayavadi, like many speakers of Bhagavatam, their ultimate conclusion is Mayavad. Their ideal is to become God. So when we hear from them, even if we are devotees and we understand the proper conclusions but when we hear from them, the effect of their consciousness is entering into our heart. Therefore it’s so very important to hear from pure devotees, Srila Prabhupada defines pure devotees in various ways at various times, one explanation of a pure devotee is a person who has attain Prema Bhakti, a person who has achieved love of Krsna, whose consciousness is no longer affected by the three modes of material nature. Pure means without adulteration that means the natural state of the soul isnot in any way contaminated. That is pure. Prabhupada explains ‘to be purified means to be brought back to its natural state just like pure water means there is no contaminates into it’. To purify water, you don't put anything in the water, you just take everything else out of the water. Yes! So pure love, you don't put love into your heart, you just take everything else out then there is pure love. Because that is essence, the nature of the consciousness, nitya-siddha krsna-prema sadhya kabhu naya/sravanadi suddha citta koriya udaya.
