Must Have Krishna's Shelter

2514833904?profile=original

“To the proportion we realize that this material world is dangerous and a miserable place and I must have Krishna’s shelter now, I cannot wait, to that extent sound vibration of Krishna will awaken realization, detachment and Bhakt."

Habits

If you don’t cultivate positive habits, if you don’t cultivate positive philosophy then you will be forced to cultivate negative thoughts. If you don’t have good habits you are going to have bad habits. You have a choice, either you cultivate good habits or you cultivate bad habits.

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country. When he came back to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful, because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road that he went through was very rough and stony. He then ordered his people to cover every road of the entire country with leather carpet.
Definitely, this would need thousands of cows’ skin, and would cost a hug

HH KKS: We do need social interaction with devotees, that can satisfy. If we are associating with devotees that is inspiring. It is said that devotees are true friends, one of the twenty-six qualities of the devotee is..(sanskrit).. which means friendship. A devotee is a friend, a true friend.
It says that a friendship of a devotee is different than the friendship of a mundane
friendship because the frienship of a devotee is perfect because it's well wishing all the way, it's not exploitive.

The people we remember to thank, in person, with a thoughtful note or gesture, or a phone call, are infinitely more likely to help us again than those we take for granted or neglect to thank. It’s so obvious, yet so few people really understand how this works.
People love to be acknowledged, admired, and thanked. People love to be thanked, not out of any selfish need but simply because it feels good to be acknowledged. And when we are sincerely acknowledged, the acknowledgment acts as reinforceme

Suffering is the Pastime of Fools

Why suffer when you can taste unlimited bliss at every minute by reconnecting yourself with the source of your existence? Just as an electrical appliance is useless when it is not connected with electricity, our lives are also useless when we are not connected with our source.

Krishna consciousness is the process of reconnecting yourself with your source. Try it today by chanting Hare Krishna with love. You'll feel the difference in your consciousness.

Preaching at Melbourne Town Hall

The tinkling bells announced evening arati. Accompanied by Hanuman Prasada Goswami, and his secretary, Syamasundara, Srila Prabhupada walked slowly down the stairs from his quarters. They entered the small temple room and offered obeisances to the golden Deities of Radha and Krsna.

Apart from the pujari, Srila Prabhupada and his entourage, the temple was deserted. The devotees were all busy decorating the cavernous Melbourne Town Hall with flowers, and unloading in

Interest is one

Although Prabhupada took it as his primary business to work solidly on his writing, he was generally always available to talk to guests. But whenever someone would come to see him, he wouldn't waste time -- he talked philosophy and logic. He constantly argued against atheism and impersonalism and, to prove the existence of God and the universality of Krsna consciousness, he often spoke strongly.

Later in the morning, he was visited by a group of followers of the Maharishi Mahesh Yo

Heart-cracking sound

Friday, 7 April 1972

Each day in Melbourne (as he had done for years), Prabhupada worked in the very early hours of the morning, combing through the Sanskrit and Bengali Srimad-Bhagavatam commentaries of the great acaryas. Following their explanations, he would select passages from them, adding his own knowledge and realisation, and then laboriously weave it all together into his Bhaktivedanta purports. It was a great, demanding task, and required the utmost concentration.

Preaching at Tarrawarra abbey -2

In question time, a soft-spoken priest with a distinct Irish brogue asked Srila Prabhupada what had been written about the future of civilisation. "Will we have a happy human family ever on the earth, or will there always be conflict .." Prabhupada's answer followed the theme of his lecture: "That we are experiencing. This Godless civilisation means there is no peace. Although we are improving -- just like I was talking yesterday -- we have discovered this airplan

God is Great, and Sweet

"I would believe only in a god who could dance," wrote German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. During his times, God was generally portrayed as a frozen perfection—remote, static, and wholly unsociable. No wonder Nietzsche was disillusioned. He might have been pleasantly surprised to hear about Krishna, the God who dances with spellbinding expertise on the hoods of the venomous serpent Kaliya; the God who dances to the tune of His mother just to get butter; the God who dances with the gopis durin

Amogha's memories of Prabhupada

2514834006?profile=original

His Divine Grace arrives, Melbourne 1974

Dear Devotees,

I recorded memories of times I was with Srila Prabhupada, including audio clips of him speaking on various topics during morning walks when I was present. I love to hear him blast the scientists so effectively, and set our minds right about everything. Apologies if the kirtan lead seems a bit sentimental. I kept this recording for a long time and recently decided to release it.

Srila Prabhupada acknowledged that most people are going to colleges and universities now days. So, Prabhupada’s idea was to present Krishna Consciousness at the colleges and universities in a format suitable for the students so that they can appreciate the principles of Bhagavat Gita and the principles of Srimad Bhagavatam.

Thought Of The Day

Radha-Krishna. Radha’s name is first. Why ? Nobody can be better devotee than Radharani. As soon as Radha’s name is there, Krishna is more pleased. That is the way. If we glorify the devotees, the character of the devotees, before the Lord, He is more pleased than to glorify Himself, He directly.(Converstions, Hawaii, 24th Apr, 1969).
