Thought Of The Day

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu when He delivered Jagai-Madhai... This Jagai-Madhai was debauch, drinking, illicit sex, meat eating and these things, degradation. These four principles are the four pillars of degradation. Therefore we prohibit. That if you want to make progress in Krsna consciousness, you must give up these four principles. So, Caitanya Mahaprabhu made this condition, that if you promise that you will give up these four principles of sinful life, then I will accept you. Never mind whate

Free and Happy Within Prison Walls

by Mother Vinata, from Rejika Croatia

"Where is your tilak?“ Candramauli Swami asked us as we gathered in front of Karlovac vege restaurant club, managed by local devotees, preparing to go for a preaching progam in a nearby prison. Quickly running to refresh my already invisible vaisnava marking, I overheard Maharaja quoting Prabhupada on the importance of wearing tilak and vaisnava clothes and remembered Sridhar Maharaja's instruction, "If you are unable to preach by explaining philosophy,

Thought Of The Day

Krsna consciousness is described by Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita, man-mana bhava mad-bhaktah. That's all. Always think of Me, man-manah, and bhava mad-bhaktah, be ready always to serve Me. Bhakta means, where there is bhakti and Bhagavan. Then bhakta. If there is no Bhagavan, and there is no activities to serve Bhagavan, there is no bhakta also. They are demons. So bhakta means there must be Bhagavan. Sevya, sevaka, and seva. Sevya sevaka seva, three things. Sevya means who is to be served, the ma

ONE WHO BECOMES GOD BY MEDITATION IS A DOG

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

By His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Brahma worships Lord Krishna

Nowadays it is becoming fashionable for people to claim that they are becoming God by meditation. This means that by meditation it is possible to transform oneself into God; in other words, God meditates, and by His meditation He becomes God. This is all nonsense. God is God, and He was always God and will always be God. Even as an infan

BE CAREFUL IN SPIRITUAL LIF

Hare Krsna

If you are passing through thorns, you must be very careful. Otherwise the thorns will get stuck up with your garment, and you will be inconvenienced. It is said in the Vedas, ksurasya dhārā niśitā duratyayā1. Just like we shave with a razor – the razor is very sharp. So if we can carefully handle the razor, we get our cheeks very clean and the business is done. Bu

The word pāpa-yonayah means “born into a lower class.”  According to the Vedic system of classification, women, vaisyas, and sudras belong to a lower social order. A low life means a life without Krishna consciousness. High and low positions in society are calculated by considering a person’s Krishna consciousness. A brāhmana is considered to be on the highest plat

'Coffee Break' For IDT Sevaks

Time was passing!

The sound of fans as usually was the prominent sound as like cars in Mumbai streets.

Every one of Devotees were sitting before the computer and doing their service.

But suddenly! All sound disappeared. It became darker.

And this peace told us that POWER HAS GONE!

-          Oh Gopinath!

-          Oh Madhav!

-          Oh Giridhari!

-          Oh Govinda! …

And etc were the guilty responses of my friends according to their beloved Forms of Krishna.

Since our duty really was not

Be Receptive

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

“Receptive” implies being open to ideas and suggestions.

It means you are inclined and willing to receive whatever it is that you need at that moment – data, creativity, a new idea, or whatever. It’s the opposite of being closed minded and stubborn.

People who are receptive are willing to have a “beginner’s mind,” the willingness to learn, even if they are considered the expert. Because they are not defensive, these peo

Keeping in constant touch with Krishna

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Even after the destruction of this body, consciousness is not destroyed. Rather, consciousness is transferred to another type of body and again makes us aware of the material conception of life. That is also described in the Bhagavad-gita. At the time of death, if our consciousness is pure, we can be sure that our next life will not be material -- our next life will be spiritual. If our consciousness is not pure at the

-          Stop! Stop! Please wait!

Shouting in this way one aged Devotee came running to the bus. But because bus waited for him for another several minutes another senior Devotee within the bus spoke to him with anger.

It was noon time. As usually in yatras in the morning Devotees are taken to the places of pilgrimage and in the noon time they have to be on time for noon Prasadam. If someone is late then there won’t be any Prasadam left.

So this time this bus was late and all Devotees were ang

Omnipotence of the lord

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Krishna can be in constant companionship with us because He is omnipotent. Therefore, He can be fully in touch with us by His words. His words and He are not different. That is omnipotence. Omnipotence means that everything relating to Him has the same potency. For example, here in this material world, if we are thirsty and we want water, simply repeating "Water, water, water, water," will not satisfy our thirst, becaus
