We are spiritual beings having a human experience. Because we are spiritual, we are eternal, and existing in a constantly changing, impermanent world feels unnatural. This incongruity between our spiritual natures and the material nature can lead to subtle frustrations and dissatisfaction.

Why are we attracted to the material world?

The desire to become attracted to the material world is perfectly reasonable because the material world is a perfect reflection of the spiritual world. All the vari

Subhangi Devi Dasi ACBSP
In 1974, Subhangi and her husband, initiated as Sarvabhavana Dasa, both students, enjoyed wonderful prasada and music at the Sunday Love Feast in Hamburg. Later, when they read in a famous German magazine that “the dangerous and fanatical Hare Krishna sect is forcing money from old people,” they decided to avoid the devotees. But when Sacimata Mataji ran behind them with an Isopanisad, calling, “You have to have this book. It will change your life! It’s free!” they star

Interesting question! Since I have been in ISKCON over 50 years, when I came to Mayapur there was a grass hut, now there are 7,500 devotees. What will happen in 50 more years? Śrīla Prabhupāda said we should have 50,000 devotees here! When I joined ISKCON I had visited every temple in ISKCON – all three!! San Francisco, New York and Montreal. But now I don’t think it is possible, there are 600 or 800. I don’t know if they count all the outposts and namahattas. In India, I know there are 5,000 n

Manitou Springs – they call it 'The Dead Sea of Canada'. Because the waters at Little Manitou Lake have a hight content of magnesium, sodium, and potassium salts, you can float effortlessly. Receding glaciers formed this long and narrow lake that 's fed by underground springs.

We are here for two days to feel the sensation of buoyancy on the water. You walk in the liquid and suddenly your legs automatically kick up and you can't help, but float. The salinity level is five times higher than the

Comfort came from seeing people at the book table asking for Bhagavad-gitas in the various languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati. The festival site for the finish line of the chariot procession was at the ISKCON location of the Radha Govinda Cultural Association, and their attendees gravitated to the various stalls. I would say it was a marvellous turnout, perhaps just under 4000 people, young, old, and in between.

The procession was lively with chanters and dancers led by a couple of Cly

“Prabhupada was now surrounded by devotees, and I brought out the photo package prepared by Ramesvara Maharaja, which detailed the magnificent observance of Ratha-yatra by the disciples in Los Angeles.  Prabhupada became ecstatic seeing the bright, colorful photos, which were as good as a movie.  As he examined each, he seemed to be diving deeper and deeper into an ocean of nectar.  Of the photo showing hundreds of people waiting in line to see the doll exhibit, he triumphantly stated, ‘I told

Some pedestrians and picnickers at Jacki Parker Park were taken by surprise when a host of chanters came in with explosive enthusiasm to do as we like to do – beast those drums, clang the kartalas, and let out all the lung power possible. People were not necessarily having their peaceful excursion in the green, although most approved of our bhakti beatitudes with smiles and dancing to the beat. We just couldn't help ourselves. We were warming up for the following day's Chariot Fest in the Millw

The marginal living entities (jiva-souls) are NEVER created by Krsna or manifest from the impersonal brahmajyoti.

The number of jiva-souls is unlimited and has always been unlimited, no jiva-souls are ever created because the jiva-souls have always existed as Bhagavad Gita As it Is confirms.

Being “generated” from the marginal plane does NOT mean the jiva-souls “originated” from some imaginary place in the Brahmajyoti or Spiritual Sky called tatastha-sakti.

The marginal living entities (jiva-souls)

Cool Waters by Bhaktimarga Swami

It was on our bucket list to dip into the cool waters of Lake Sylvan at 5:30 am. The weather report told us of 30-plus degree weather the two previous days. The heat spell was definitely on, but then the forecast changed. The latest report revealed low temperatures of 10 degrees Celsius, so we changed our minds about going to the lake.

Despite the cool air coming off the lake, a Russian family and Fijian family met at a beach shelter. We made a commitment to meet a local man in his late fifties
