Aham Brahmāsmi

अहं ब्रह्मास्मि
Aham Brahmāsmi

- I am Brahman - I am Spirit Soul -

Aham Brahmasmi: (Sanskrit: अहं ब्रह्मास्मि aham brahmāsmi) "I am Brahman" I am Spirit Soul.

Brahman means: spiritual, and aham-brahmasmi means: I am a spirit soul. I am not this body."The symptoms of the self-realized person are given herein. The first symptom is that he is not illusioned by the false identification of the body with his true self. He knows perfectly well that he is not this material body, but spirit soul, the frag

Krishna was hungry. He wanted milk and so he went to his mother. Mother Yasoda was churning butter at that time. When she saw Krishna, she immediately understood that he was hungry and so she started feeding him. Meanwhile a pot of milk which was getting boiled on the oven started overflowing. Mother Yasoda kept Krishna aside and rushed to attend the boiling milk on the oven. Seeing that Mother Yasoda had stopped feeding him the milk, Krishna became angry. He hit the pot of churning butter with

Krishna means the highest pleasure

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Krishna—this sound is transcendental. Krishna means the highest pleasure. All of us, every living being, seeks pleasure. But we do not know how to seek pleasure perfectly. With a materialistic concept of life, we are frustrated at every step in satisfying our pleasure because we have no information regarding the real level on which to have real pleasure.

We have to understand the fact that, we are not this body; we are c

Devotion – The Highest Yoga

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

The word yoga has become synonymous in Western vernacular with a lithe figure, radiant health, peace of mind, and other material benefits. But the original meaning of the Sanskrit term carries a different, higher import: linking with the Supreme. In this lecture from 1968, Srila Prabhupada distinguishes the true goal of yoga loving devotion to the Supreme Lord from

Chintaa Se Chaturaai Ghate

H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj would quote the below couplet

chintaa se chaturaai ghate / ghate rang rup vaan chintaa badi abhaagini / chintaa chitaa samaan

"Worry destroys our intelligence, charm and eloquence. Worry is a very unfortunate thing. Infact it is like funeral pyre - since it burns us alive. "

Maharaj says that funeral pyre burns only dead bodies whereas worry burns us even when we are alive. Since worrying about the problem does not in any way help us in findi

Back To Basics Creation

Back To Basics Creation

The Vedic version of creation clearly explains step by step how it takes place and it is important to know at least the principal sequence. As you will see from the information given below, creation starts with the topmost spiritual planet, eternally manifested by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, and ends with the manifestation of the lower, material energy. In other words, the model is exactly the opposite of present day scientists who claim that everything come

Thought Of The Day

Krsna advised, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja [Bg. 18.66]. This sarva-dharman includes all our material activities. So, but people could not understand. The instruction is still standing, Krsna said, sarva-dharman parityajya, "Just simply surrender unto Me." But nobody is doing that. God says that, "You surrender unto Me; I shall give you all protection." There is assurance. But we are so unfortunate that we cannot believe or cannot be assured on the words of God also. We do not

The Glories Of The Month Kartika

Glories of Kartika

2514885917?profile=original

“One of the most important of these ceremonial functions is called Urja-vrata. Urja-vrata is observed in the month of Karttika (October-November); especially in Vrndavana, there is a specific program for temple worship of the Lord in His Damodara form. “Damodara” refers to Krsna’s being bound with rope by His mother, Yasoda. It is said that just as Lord Damodara is very dear to His devotees, so the month known as Damodara or Karttika is also very dear to them.
