ALL IS WELL- IN THE HANDS OF GOD

Posted by Sita devi dasi on April 4, 2010 at 9:33am

My hands trembled and my mouth dried. as i heard my mother's voice faintly in the background. " Uma hanged herself". Today her body was found hanging in her bedroom from the overhead fan.The body was found by her younger brother who returned from school after giving his 10th std board exam papers. My mind was shaken. What a cruel twist of fate. A young energetic girl, very very responsible and competent to take over the family responsibilities of earning taking care of tthe house and also her li

The Flight of Faith

Posted by Sita devi dasi on April 4, 2010 at 9:30am

Faith a word which makes u feel as warm in our hearts as ever. faith to me is as strong as a rock...as the famous saying goes faith can move mountains. really it can!! Have you a heard that story in bible when even the seas parted to give way to the people who had strong faith in the power of God. Faith is something which comes from deep within out hearts which is there in the seed form initially but is then watered by the refreshing water of our expereinces in life it grows bigger and stronger.

(The Nectar Moon of Sri Radha's Sweetness)

1. When will Vrndavana's queen Radha, Her eyes restless with love and Her limbs like waves in the flooding ocean of nectar, place Her merciful glance upon me?

2. O queen of Vrndavana, I take shelter of your lotus feet, which are flooded with nectar, which are cool and pleasing, and which, placed over Lord Krsna's heart, extinguish the blazing fire of desire that torments Him.

3. I pray that my heart

The Glories of Go Mata

By circumambulating the cow , one attains the result of circumambulating the whole world . One should give cows in charity and protect her in all respects. A foolish person who beats or chastises a cow goes to hell . A person who gives some food and water to a cow attains the result of performing the horse sacrifice . There is no doubt about it . Rare are those who daily worship and serve the cow .

Importance of chanting

Posted by ramchandra priya das on April 2, 2010 at 9:34pm

This chanting process is the only way of attaining full Krishna Consciousness in this age of kali yuga. Lord Chaitanya stressed upon this point, and we may take it from His authority that no other method will prove to be successful in this matter.

Simply engage yourself in Krishna's service. That will protect you from any attack of maya. Maya can takeKrishna's place in our heart as soon as there is a slackness on our part. Otherwise, if Krishna's seated always, maya has no opportunity to occupy t

Clap Your Karmas Away!

Posted by Shabda Hari Das on April 2, 2010 at 8:45pm

"There is a verse in the Nectar of Devotion that says, when you chant and dance, when chanting Hare Krishna and you clap your hands, just liken when people clap their hands and the birds fly off, as many Karmas fly off from your account…your bad Karmas.

As while you're chanting and clapping your hands, as birds will fly off from the fields, so it's a good impetus….Haribol….Hare Krishna! (Everyone Clapping)"

Butterfly

Posted by Shyamkumar Das on April 2, 2010 at 2:34pm

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shrive

1. When mother Yasoda's baby Krsna was slanting His body to attempt to rise and turn around, this attempt was observed by a Vedic ceremony. In such a ceremony, called utthana, the child is properly bathed. Just after Krsna turned three months old, mother Yasoda celebrated this ceremony with other women of the neighbourhood.

“Are you reading my books?”

Adisekar das: He had the sankirtan leaders of that time from Bhagavan’s
zone a little meeting with us. First he congratulated the devotees for the
results. And he asked the first question, I think the only question he asked
us, and he said, “Are you reading my books?” Then Brighupati said, “You
know, Prabhupada, we don’t have much time, we don’t have time to read.” Then
I heard, I was near, Prabhupada said, “What is the use?” I could see he was
deeply hurt. It was a major priority. Our life was to be

On Remembering Srila Prabhupada

Myself and many others practically perceive how the relationship with the spiritual master is not based on physical presence. I joined ISKCON as a young kid in 1975, when it was already a big world-wide organization. There was no question of just walking up to Srila Prabhupada and talking to him, nor even of getting an appointment to see him. We could attend lectures and darsanas, but felt (and were) too insignificant to ask him a question, even in the public forum

Story of Lord Krishna - SRIMAD BHAGAVATA by Krsna-Dwaipayana Vyasa

Putana’s Deliverance

By Kamsa’s orders, the fierce demoness Putana went about killing children in towns, villages and pasture lands. Dressing herself just like a beautiful woman, she entered the house of mother Yashoda. Krishna showed the nature of a small baby and closed His eyes, as if to avoid the face of Putana. On that very spot, the fiercely dangerous Putana took Krishna on her lap and pushed her breast into His mouth. The n

" We know that one good fragrant flower in the forest can give the good name for the whole forest, so like that in the parampara one good disciple will glorify the whole parampara.

So His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad because he took this message around the world he has created a very good name for the disciplic succession following Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

So we all must be very careful to do the same thing to be a good example of His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhup

Great Ramayana play and festival for Lord Rama

Mother Gopi Gita and Gopi Krishna got to few weeks ago brainstorming about doing a drama. They wanted to do something that incorporated all the different elements of our temple. This the Gurukula youth, Gurukula alumni, temple staff, and congregation. Spring break was coming up so they thought lets give it a shot. Gopi Krishna suggested Ramayana because it had not been done at the Dallas temple before.

However this was done without some serious challenges. Krishna likes His devotees working hard
