My Memories of Srila Prabhupada

Upon seeing Srila Prabhupada coming slowly and majestically down the stairs, the devotees waiting outside the temple room
immediately bowed down. Everyone except me. I thought, "Let me see Prabhupada." Srila Prabhupada was glowing, literally.
He looked more grave than anyone I had ever seen before. I just stared at his divine form for a few seconds, and wanted to
go on and on just looking at him. But knowing and feeling it to be improper not to bow down, I also offere

PRABHUPADA'S QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Today, 15th March, now it is 7:35, gone, as soon as it is 7:36, you cannot bring back that 15th March, evening, 7:35, again. Even if you pay millions of dollars, "Please come back again," no, finished. Canakya Pandita says, "Time is so valuable that if you pay millions of golden coins, you cannot get back even a moment." What is lost is lost for good. "If you such valuable time spoil for nothing, without any profit, just imagine how much you are losing, how greatly

*In this world we spend hundreds of gallons of blood to bring a person out
of the clutches of maya*

Once some devotees were sent to establish a preaching center in Bengal. They

Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati arrived to install the Deities, he was very
pleased and asked about one brahmacari who had worked hard on the
preparations.

The disciples told him, "Master, he became entangled with a lady. We rebuked
him so much for his behavior that h

BCS Glories.

Chitralekha devi *dasi's daughter Sarisha, a civil engineer, was a participant at the 2010
South African Spiritual Retreat with BCS GuruMaharaja. Typically, in great awe
and respect of GuruMaharaja, she composed the following poem, this I share

*Japa Walk with His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaja*

*Small Feet, Quick Step –*

We Must Be DEBTOR!

"Prabhupada said in a Srimad Bhagavatam lecture about what is our relationship with the Guru, 1974. He said, 'We must be DEBTOR! Guru. Debtor to the spiritual master, to the sages, to the saintly persons, because we are getting knowledge from them.

Therefore the Vyasa Puja is there. Once in a year the disciples are worshiping the spiritual master and trying to repay what he has received from the spiritual master.

Why we respect the Guru, Prabhuapda explains, because he does not manufacture. He say

The material world is but a shadow. If we hold our hand against the light it casts a shadow image. The shadow image is like an outline of the hand. It doesn't show the qualities of the hand, such as the hair, the skin, or the fingerprints. It is only a vague form.

Similarly, in the material world, what we see as admiration, servitorship, friendship, parental affection, or conjugal affection, these are all like incomplete shadows of their real form.

Just as the hand has so many variegated qualitie

Worshipping Lord Nityananda

Hare Krsna my dear devotees, I hope your week of chanting has been blessed with nice realisations and also that you were able to focus on the sound vibration of the names.
Today was the cooking service day, so I woke up early chanted some rounds and started preparing everything for the offering of the day, the boys helped me bathing the Deities and doing the arati, we still have this mercy of growing our own spicies and flowers for Krsna. We offered a beautiful jasmine flower and cooked with rose

How you treat others is exactly how they will treat you

A long time ago in China, a girl named Li-Li got married & went to live with
her husband and mother-in-law. In a very short time, Li-Li found that she
couldn't get along with her mother-in-law at all.

Their personalities were very different, and Li-Li was angered by many of
her mother-in-law's habits. In addition, she criticized Li-Li constantly.

Finally, Li-Li could not stand her mother-in-law's bad temper and
dictatorship any longer, and she dec

The Five A's in Chanting: No.1 - Attraction

Here is a five part series focusing on the five A's in chanting the Holy names. Mahanidhi Swami Maharaja gives some very nice advice and realisations on this subject

1. Attraction

The inestimable power of Krsna's attraction acts everywhere in creation from the atoms to the cosmos. From the invisible movements of neutrons and electrons to the vast stellar orbits of huge planets and galaxies, Krsna exerts His influence through His powers of gravity and attraction. Krsna is the most beautiful and att

"The devotee should make it a regular practice to spend a little time alone in a quiet place and concentrate deeply on the Holy Name. He should utter and hear the name distinctly. It is impossible for the jiva to singlehandedly avoid and overcome the illusion of distraction. By the mercy of the Lord, however, this is accomplished with ease. Therefore it is essential to prayerfully beg for the Lord's grace with great humility, for this is the only means to salvation from this offense."
