Krishna's Beauty

krishna.jpg?width=553Sri Krsna's form glistens with the black mascara of the sweetness of His nectarean handsomeness. His complexion is the color of a blue lotus flower or a sapphire.

His complexion is as enchanting as an emerald, a tamala tree, or a group of beautiful dark clouds. He is an ocean of nectarean handsomeness. He wears yellow garments and a garland of forest flowers. He is decorated with various jewels and He is a great reservoir of the nectar of many transcendental pastimes.

He has long, curling hair and

I aimed at a beautiful flower in the branches of a tall tree. But I lost my balance and consequently fell into a pond. I was disappointed. My eyes were filled with tears. But when I regained calmness, I saw many beautiful lotus floating around me. This is life. God makes you fall at times, to fill your life with good virtues. God takes away what you desire, to give you more than what you desired for.

Jai Shree Krishna............

Thought Of The Day

So if you want to be not fearfulness, no more fear, abhayam sattva-samsuddhih, if you become out of fearfulness then you have to take shelter of the lotus feet of Krsna. Therefore Krsna is begging. Because we are Krsna's sons or we have got very intimate relationship with Krsna and we have given Him up and we have forgotten Him, therefore we are suffering. So Krsna, being father, Krsna, being friend of everyone, He comes, and He canvasses, and at last He says, "You rascal," sarva-dharman paritya

Appeal to Disciples With Fallen Gurus

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Sri Srimad Gour Govinda Swami Maharaja
I would like to make a hearty appeal to the grand disciples of our beloved spiritual master Srila Prabhupada. In the extraordinary gracious and highly compassionate process given by prema-purusottama Sriman Gauranga Mahaprabhu, there is no reason whatsoever to feel frustrated, even if the disciples painfully see deviation of their gurus from the sastric injunctions and their being f

Assisted by Bhisma, Dhrtarastra ruled over the kingdom on Pandu's behalf. After hearing of Pandu cursed and his subsequent retirement, Dhrtarastra, despite his blindness, was officially installed as monarch. He thought sadly of his brother and missed him greatly, but in his absence he competently managed all the affairs of state.

It once came to pass that Vyasadeva arrived hungry and thirsty at Dhrtarastra's palace. Ga

Synergistic Preaching with Vaisesika Prabhu

Synergistic Preaching with Vaisesika Prabhu

2514881362?profile=original

I had a most uplifting time at the Toronto temple this past weekend because I had the exhilirating association of His Grace Vaisesika Prabhu. I was standing outside the temple, waiting to drive the devotees to Kensington Market to do book distribution and Harinama. An older Indian gentleman I had met in the washroom introduced himself as Davinder, and now he came up to me and started to glorify Srila Prabhupada.

He said, "Srila Prabhupada performed mira

Report from Malawi

Malawi, in Africa, is a place where very few have heard of Krsna. But there are many people here who are always ready to buy the books, and as soon as they look at them, they say how beautiful they are.

Once I went into a bakery named Ali Baba Bakery and showed the books to the fair-skinned man at the cash counter. His name was Nicholas and he was immediately interested. He took SSR, Raja Vidya, Beyond Birth and Death, and Perfection of Yoga. He paid half the amount and asked me

A New and Tremendously Transformational Course for Ladies

While serving in Bangladesh for the last twelve years and observing the power and beauty of its still intact Vaisnava culture, we meditated upon and developed this course to empower ISKCON's Vaisnavis to enter into this culture regardless of where they live in world.

We facilitated 'Exploring the Roots of Spiritual Culture' for the first time last January in Mayapur, and then in Ukraine during June, a

Why do we apply tilak marks on the forehead and body?

The tilak invokes a feeling of sanctity in the wearer and others. Its form and color vary according to the Lord worshipped.

In Vedic times, the four castes (or Varna) - Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Sudra - applied marks differently. The brahman applied a white chandan mark signifying purity, as his profession was of a priestly or academic nature. The kshatriya applied a red (kumkum) mark signifying valou

The Real Source of Energy

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada'

Matter itself has no creative power. When it is manipulated by the living energy, material things are produced. Matter in its crude form is therefore the latent energy of the Supreme Being. Whenever we think of energy, it is natural that we think of the source of energy. For example, when we think of electrical energy, we simultaneously think of the powerhouse where it is generated. Energy is not self-sufficient. It is

Understanding the Source of Everything

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada'

Generally, a person with a philosophical mind is inquisitive to know what is the origin of all creations. At night he looks into the sky and naturally wonders what are the stars, how they are situated, who lives there, and so on. All these inquiries are quite natural for a human being, because he has a more developed consciousness than the animals. And to reply to such a sincere inquirer, the Srimad-Bhagavatam says tha

Thought Of The Day

The material world, the material nature is the mother of living entities. Just like to give birth to a child there is necessity of father and mother. So Krsna says that "I am the bija-pradah pita." So He is everyone's father. But we may ask, "Then who is His father?" His father is devotee. When He accepts anyone as His father, that father is His devotee. That is said here that karhicin mat-parah, yesam aham priya atma sutas ca. The Supreme Personality of Godhead is loved by the devotee as their

Make someone else feel good

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada'

If you want to feel good about yourself, make someone else feel good! It really is that simple. Perhaps it is because this idea is so simple that we sometimes forget to do it.

It seems that anytime I go out of my way to make someone else feel good, it ends up brightening my day and making myself feel better as well. It reminds me that so often the nicest things in life aren’t “things.” Instead, they are the feelings that
