HERE ARE SOME experiences and realizations of devotees who give people Krsna consciousness by giving them books by Srila Prabhupada and his followers. I start with an experience of my own.
While distributing books recently I met a young man very interested in Krsna consciousness. As we were speaking, he put in hearing aids to understand me.
He told me that when he was a child his parents quarreled so much he wanted to lose his hearing,

God is complete and His arrangement is also very complete. Everyone gets his necessities of life completely. In the Vedas it is said that we are all living entities and God is the chief living entity. The difference is that the one God supplies the necessities of all other living entities (eko yo bahūnām vidadhāti kāmān). In the Christian world also, they believe th

At present, we are concerned primarily with two things: one, ourselves; and the other, the place where we live. In other words, we are concerned with two objects: namely, everything that is related to our gross and subtle bodies; and the world at large, with all its paraphernalia. But there are others above us, the transcendentalists, who are concerned not only with their body and mind and the world at large, but also wi
Hare Krishna The ISKCON temple at Vrindavan celebrated the boat festival on 4/4/2012. The inner courtyard of the temple was filled with water and created a water pool. The pool was covered with variety of flowers art fully decorated. The floral decorations were wonderful, even mystics wouldn’t have doubted the soft bottom below the flowerbed. A child jumped in to play with the flowers, but was rescued from the water. Crowd gathered even hours before to grab a seat in front to witness the festi

We think that I am the center of all existence, all the universe is revolving around me. What makes me happy is good, what doesn’t make me happy is bad. It’s that mentality that keeps us within material existence. So the consciousness of the vaishnava is the opposite. Not to be selfish, but to be selfless. How can I please the Lord? How could I be the servant of the servant of the servant
Letters to the Moscow branch of the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust
Every year, through the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust some 200,000 people buy a book of Vedic literature in Russian. And every day the Trust's office in Moscow receives letters of appreciation from people whose spiritual yearnings have long been repressed. Here we present a sample of those letters.

Can you help me?" Then they should be informed, that "If you have no information for solving this problem, then please send all men who are i

This Gaur Purnima , the auspicious appearance day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, I was scheduled to meet a top cop, who holds one of the top three designations in the hierarchy of Mumbai Police. It was a scheduled meeting and he had taken time out to meet me on a public holiday. After our discussion concluded, I thanked him for taking out time to meet me on a holiday and presented a copy of our popular new
You, you are very religious, performing the ritualistic ceremony very nicely, going to the Ganges and taking your bath, and dharmah svanusthitah pumsam. Very rightly you are executing your religious principle and coming at home, you are reading Bhagavad-gita, but you have no faith in Krsna. That is useless time, useless waste of time. The Bhagavata, (says) srama eva hi kevalam. So this, why this happens? Because these people do not approach the right person, guru. Adau gurv-asrayam.

first day distributing Srila Prabhupada's books.
Being a devotee of Krsna and a follower of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada brings with it certain responsibilities: rising early, bathing regularly, maintaining regulative principles (including abstinence from meat-eating, illicit sex, intoxication, and gambling), and of course daily chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. But as well as these ba

Ahankāra-vimūdhātmā kartāham iti manyate [Bg. 3.27]. The rascal, he is bewildered, vimūdhātmā, on account of false egotism. Just like we are inviting everyone: Please come and learn Bhagavad-gitā. “Huh! Bhagavad-gitā, let us go the sea and swim and surf.” They are taking so much trouble. I have seen in Hawaii that for hours together, they are struggling with waves.
